Cheese lovers…. 🧀 SAVE this post!
If you are ever wondering “do I have to buy lactose free cheese? “ or “can I still eat cheese on a low FODMAP diet?”

Check out this post.
Check out Monash FODMAP app for actual safe serving size for low FODMAP. Also, blue cheese is the new addition here ☺️

In general, hard cheeses are lowwwww in lactose anyway (so you do not need to buy lactose free) ones.
Soft cheeses generally just keep to no more than 40g per serve. And if you think you are going to be reaching out for more than 40g then it would be a good idea to buy lactose free options.

If you are having problems tolerating cheeses - then it is best to work with a dietitian to work out your triggers 😊

💚Take these simple steps to support your gut health💚

💚 Balance Diet: a balance diet is beyond eating fruits and vegetables. It involves inclusion of different food groups and as much varieties of foods as you can.

💚 Hydration: maintaining a good hydration throughout the day supports your gut system from ingestion to digestion.

💚 Adequate sleep: support your gut by ensuring you get enough sleep and rest. Sleep influence our digestions, hormones regulations, stress response etc which can all have an impact towards our gut health.

💚 Stay Active: keeps our gut healthy and promotes bowel regularity.

💚 Stress Management: We know how stress can have impact on our gut brain axis. This is why managing our stress is crucial to promote a healthier gut environment, reduce IBS symptoms, improve overall digestive wellness.

💚 Seek professional advise: if you have persistent gut issues, it is important to consult health professionals such as IBS dietitian for a personalised health advise.

No doubt everyone experiences some degree of stress or anxiety. However, this can be worse in those who has IBS.

You often hear about the gut - brain axis. This refers to the bi-directional flow of information between the gut and the brain and vice versa.

In short, if you are stress, it can increase your IBS symptoms which can then further elevate your stress and anxiety level. A never ending cycle of stress and IBS symptoms.

💚Do you have any stress management strategies in place?

There are a few but one of my favourite is actually mastering the deep breathing technique. Maybe because it works really well on me 😌

Share with me below ⬇️ which strategies do you find most helpful for you to manage your stress/ anxiety.
