The Lapedo child, as he has been nicknamed, lived about 28,700 years ago. Initial analyzes had classified him as a member of our species, Homo sapiens. But something didn't add up. His skeleton told a different story, a story of intertwining worlds and blurring boundaries. His stocky legs, in fact, showed clear Neanderthal characteristics. A hybrid?
