20 years of teamwork, care and impact. Congratulations to our Breast MDT! ๐ŸŽ‰

The Breast MDT group brings together team members from across the hospital, who meet fortnightly in our Gates MDT room to discuss complex medical cases. These members include San Specialists, Pathologists, Radiation Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, Geneticists, Radiologists, Nuclear Physicians, Radiographers, Sonographers, Physiotherapists, Menopause Specialists, Patient Navigators and Cardiology Oncology.

The first Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meeting at the San began in 2005 with the Breast MDT, which has since grown to include 11 specialty MDTs across the hospital.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to every member of the Breast MDT who has generously volunteered their time and expertise over the past 20 years to ensure the highest standard of care for our patients ๐Ÿ’™

This October make sure you Feel - Act - Know!

Feel: Early detection is a game-changer when it comes to Breast Cancer. Feel something different or new? Act now.

Act: If you havenโ€™t recently had a breast check by a GP, are due for your BreastScreen appointment or for diagnostic imaging, act today and book in.

Know: Know your risk. Age and being female are two big risk factors for breast cancer, so itโ€™s important to be aware and get checked regularly.

Team members from around the hospital joined us on Wednesday to turn the front lawn pink in support of breast cancer awareness ๐Ÿฉท

To launch Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we held our Feel - Act - Know event to highlight the importance of early detection in breast cancer.

Our CEO, Brett Goods, welcomed everyone to the event, followed by San Specialist Dr Sandra Krishnan, who spoke about the importance of knowing your body and taking action if you notice anything unusual. San Foundation Managing Director Judy Tanna also shared how their team proudly supports these vital initiatives.

Attendees were invited to honour a loved one by filling out an โ€˜Iโ€™m going pink forโ€™ card, which will be displayed in our cafeteria throughout the month. They were also encouraged to make a personal pledge by signing the pink ribbon as a commitment to get checked before the end of the month.

We then welcomed everyone to meet our incredible teams who deliver outstanding care, including:
