Last night on ACA there was a story involving a woman being injured at a massage therapy business.
Allegedly the therapist βcrackedβ the ladyβs neck.
Just to let you know that massage therapists in Australia are prohibited from performing any type of chiropractic manipulations on clients, and anyone who is a member of an Australian massage association would be aware of this.
Unfortunately in some countries massage therapists are permitted to do these adjustments and then migrate to Australia, set up shop and can injure people. Often they have had no formal government recognised training.
My hope in the future is that AHPRA will require massage therapists to be formally regulated to avoid these kinds of incidents from occurring.
