It’s Olives to Oil day!!
🫒 I love being a part of this cool local project!
It’s such a great example of sustainability, eating locally grown, reducing waste and working together as a community!
Everyone posts picks their olives, our contributions get weighed and then they all get pressed into oil together!
🫒 This year I picked 11 kgs - almost a full shopping jeep load!
This is the same amount I picked last time, when I got two litres of oil back.
🫒 It’s always a great vibe dropping them off at Ceres where there are lots of friendly volunteers to help, and a beautiful walk back over Merri Creek.

This is a truly impressive book on aerial yoga, a subject I knew almost nothing about before reading through it. The book is not only very clearly written and comprehensive, but it helped me to understand the surprising number of benefits this form of yoga provides as well as how to make the practice accessible to a very wide range of people of all ages, body types, and physical condition.

Eight Limbs of Aerial Yoga offers a thoughtful and well-researched exploration of aerial yoga as both a historical and contemporary practice. I was especially interested to learn about the use of fabric hammocks and ropes as supportive tools in South Asian traditions. The authors clearly articulate how aerial yoga can expand accessibility and inclusivity in yoga spaces, while also providing grounded, practical guidance on trauma-informed care. The book presents many creative and clinically relevant ideas that invite teachers and therapists to reconsider what support, stability, and adaptability can look like in practice.

Relaxing news! We’ve just added a new Restorative Aerial Yoga Class to our schedule!
🌱 Join Jo on Tuesday evenings at 7.20 - 8.20pm
🌿 Restorative Aerial Yoga has a relaxing and nurturing focus. The aerial hammock is hung low to the ground for many moves - taking the place of blocks and bolsters in a traditional restorative yoga practice.
🍃 Many people find it easier to relax and meditate in the soft cocoon of the hammock. It supports your body, can help to reduce distractions from the room around you and can provide space for gentle movement (we know that stillness is not always the most comfortable or relaxing option).
🍃 It’s also a great way to access the benefits of aerial yoga if your energy levels are low or if inversions aren’t a good option for you, although there will be some upside down hang time if you choose!
