What if your presence is your most powerful tool? Discover how inner work cultivates deep, ethical, and transformative therapeutic presence.
Join me for an online lecture (“The Inner Terrain of the Therapist: Self-Reflection and Inner Work in SomatoEmotional Release”) as we explore the essential role of the therapist’s inner life in the practice of SomatoEmotional Release (SER). As therapists, we journey alongside our clients through deep emotional terrains, past traumas, preverbal memories, and existential longings. The client’s psychological, emotional, and energetic patterns inevitably shape the therapeutic field—just as our own capacity to witness and hold space profoundly influences the process.
This lecture will emphasise the necessity of cultivating a self-reflective stance—grounded in ongoing inner work, embodied awareness, and an ethical commitment to presence. We will draw on theoretical frameworks, somatic perspectives, and practical examples to illuminate this inner dimension of practice.
You will be invited to examine how your own inner world may be mirrored in the client’s process, and how consciously engaging in your personal inner work allows you to become a more integrated therapist—one who can hold the complexity of the client’s experience with clarity, safety, depth, and grace.
AUDIENCE
This lecture is designed for CranioSacral Therapists engaged in SomatoEmotional Release, as well as for therapists from all modalities who support clients in navigating emotional process work. Whether you work hands-on or through verbal and relational fields, if your practice invites clients into deep emotional territory—grief, trauma, early memory, or existential longing—this space is for you. The lecture will speak to those who recognise that their own inner life inevitably shapes the healing field, and who feel called to deepen their presence, refine their boundaries, and tend the ethics of emotional holding from the inside out.
