knowing our centre,
what it feels like to inhabit it,
what it feels like when we shift out of it,
what it feels like when we return,
— is our greatest therapeutic tool.

🌙

Many practitioners don’t realise how much their own state shapes the work.

The moments of losing your centre…
subtly trying to get it right,
working a little too hard,
or moving away from what is actually happening.

This is where the work becomes effortful.
Not because you don’t know what to do —
but because you are no longer anchored in yourself.

The shift is often not more technique,
but learning to recognise these moments
and gently return.

This is what we explore inside The Therapist. Centre Mini Course.

This month I am excited to share with you
a series of learnings around “The Therapist Centre”.

This topic has been alive in my work lately
and is integral to how we show up to the table as therapists

I hope you take some time to explore these learnings and
let me know how they land.

The Eight Therapist Subpersonalities
is a resource I have developed over years
of observing what comes up in therapists
as they are learning to facilitate depth work,
and also what has come up in myself.

Understanding our tendencies and patterns
as a therapist means we begin to have choice.

The choice to respond differently, to sit back out of a habitual response and centre our
therapeutic presence.

I am excited to share this digital resource with you. It has emerged from many years at the treatment table, in the classroom and on the meditation cushion.

It has been a while
since I have had a new
painting on the easel.

My creative life
the past months has
revolved more around
writing.

But,
something new
is emerging
and wanting to be
expressed in pictures.

An ever-unfolding
creative life.

🌙

In clinical work, your state matters as much as your skill.
Not just what you say and do, but where you are acting from.

When you are in your centre:

perception becomes clearer
pacing becomes more precise
the client’s system has something stable
to organise around

When you are pulled out of your centre:

urgency can enter
you may try to fix or guide
your thinking can become unclear or overactive

The question is not how to avoid it, but how quickly
you can recognise it and how simply you can return.

This series of THERAPIST ANCHORS has been developed
to give you simple and practical ways
to return to centre.

🌙

As therapists, we don’t show up as a single, unified self.

We show up through patterns — adaptive parts of us that have developed over time,
each with their own intelligence, strategy, and intention.

These subpersonalities are not mistakes.
They are organised responses shaped by our training,
our temperament, and our own lived experience.

But in session, they can begin to lead the work.
And when they do, we are often pulled subtly out of our centre.

This resource is an invitation to recognise these patterns —
not to eliminate them,
but to become aware of when they are organising your way of being with a client.

Because awareness is what allows choice.

one of the most important
skills we can cultivate.

In this months learning
