Well hello, online world.
I've been a bit quiet over here this year...
Life is remarkably busy and much more difficult than I had anticipated.
I have a whole new level of respect for pregnant mums who have another child at home/mums of multiple children in gentle. You are true super heroes with steel patience and perseverance of no other. A true testament to you as a child raiser and life giver.

I will be ducking into hibernation mode over the coming weeks, but just wanted to extend a massive shower of gratitude to you beautiful humans who have supported me and the growth of Yonder over the past 3 years. A journey it has been, that has been full of life and personal lessons. I am so thankful for all of your support.
And I cannot wait to see all your vibrant faces when Yonder emerges in the new form it takes on, when it's ready.

This is my last term before I head into Mat leave for the remainder of the year.

You can catch me on Tuesdays at the stunning Berry Yoga Shala, or out at Bundanon for 2 more classes before I take a hiatus. Anna, from Berry Yoga Shala will be taking over Bundanon Classea for March and then from May - September, what a dreamboat!

Hello friends,
Have we met? I thought I better reintroduce myself...
Firstly, thank you for joining me and following along with Yonder, as we fumble through this journey of ours.

My name is Taylor, and I am Yonder Movement.

I am a Primary Teacher, who fell into the deep stress of teaching (if you are in the profession, I'm sure you know). And after sitting in a particularly dark period of postpartum life, I took the leap and opened Yonder. At the time it was my way of coping with my loss of self and control over my life, and it definitely did pull me out of that pit (new mums, I see you!).

I completed my first YTT (Yoga Teacher Training) in Goa in 2017 and taught here and there before giving Yonder my all, almost 2 years ago. Focusing away from Primary and into Yoga full time! I am from Nowra originally, and did the stint in the city, and a bit of travel, and a bit of life, you know... we came back to the coast to start our family in 2020.

I had always planned for Yonder to be more. Hence the name Yonder Movement. Not just a space for Yoga, but for all movement of the body and space of the mind, for people from all walks of life. For prenatal and injury recovery, for strength and release, for children and for the children at heart. For community and freedom of expression. And maybe that's where Yonder will still go...

But for now, studio classes in Nowra are on hold. I'm growing my family and trying to refocus my energies inward.

But it's always a watch this space, because who knows!
I am still around in term 1, before I go into full hibernation mode.

Gloomy, humid, fly filled, perfect mornings β˜€οΈ
with this view, these dedicated humans and movement with intention.

Today we moved in line with our second Niyama of Santosha (contentment). Moving lovingly into our own body, accepting and appreciating what we have and where we currently are. Allowing our mind to acknowledge and release Vrittis (fluctuations of mind), the constant thought of 'ill be happy if/when'... and sinking into acceptance and gratitude of what we have in the here and now.

Stillness.

If you have joined me on the mat this term, we have been looking at aligning Asana (posture practice) to our 5 Yamas, or moral disciplines. Connecting movement to Yoga Philosophy, and extending our understanding beyond the mat and into our daily lives.

The Yamas are a very detailed set of guidelines of how we can interact with others in society and cultivate a life of peace and harmony, through our thoughts, words and actions.

I have pieced together an extremely condensed snapshot of the Yamas and 2 simple things you can to do practice each, on and off the mat.

Maybe, you choose to take one Yama for the next 5 days as a small goal of focus in your day, and see if you can notice a difference in how you approach situations or treat others or yourself.
