We received 437 votes in total, not bad for a last minute competition, put together from scratch and run entirely by volunteers!
It wasn’t perfect but it was well received so we hope to be back bigger and better again next year.

Berry IGA plus Liquor is a retail supermarket owned by well known local identity Leeane Saunders. She started with the Berry Health Food and Deli Store in 1986, expanding in 1987 with the purchase of the Berry Supermarket. Operations have now grown to encompass Shoalhaven Heads, Kiama Downs and Shellharbour IGA's - and she will soon launch North Wollongong at the end of 2025.

It's a family business - you will see her children Nicole, Jamie and Nathan at various times in the stores - along with the other over 100 staff - aged between 14 and over 70.

The Berry IGA is more than a supermarket - it is the go to venue for gourmet goodies and has a bottle shop attached - making it a one stop shop. A small store, it offers big city conveniences including online shopping and free home delivery.

Lee is a big part of the local communities in which she operates - and is well known to a wide range of community groups. Joining the Business Chamber is an opportunity she says to be more involved with the wider business community, and addressing the ongoing challenges of cost of doing business and staff shortages, but also to work on issues that are unique to her sector and relevant to other chamber members including illegal to***co operations.

Nowra Business Park is a newly developed premium industrial precinct designed for trades, logistics, e-commerce and professional services. Located at 7 Nowra Hill Road, South Nowra, owned and developed by Leadmark and completed in late 2024, the Park features 68 modern industrial units and is already home to a mix of local and national tenants.

With a strong focus on community and collaboration, tenants benefit - quite uniquely - from shared business support services. This includes HR, bookkeeping, legal and logistics — making it one of the first regional precincts to offer this integrated model, nd is managed through an integrated platform called 'Stackd'

The team, is led by Marketing and Partnerships contact Hetty Cummins, has joined the Chamber to build deeper local connections and explore collaboration.

Looking ahead, Hetty aims to expand sustainability features such as EV charging and solar, and strengthening partnerships with universities and service providers. She sees the key opportunities for the business to include raising regional awareness and ensuring local businesses can leverage the Park to grow the Shoalhaven economy
