A big thank you to Fiona Phillips MP for shining a spotlight on inclusive employment and acknowledging the impact of Interchange Shoalhaven’s Skills Boost program in Parliament.

It was a pleasure to welcome Fiona to our new community hub in Nowra, where she met participants and saw firsthand how Skills Boost is creating real pathways to training, mentoring, and meaningful work for people with disability.

As Fiona shared:

“Australians with disability can and want to work. They bring talent, curiosity and fresh perspectives to our workplaces... When we provide the right support, everyone in the community benefits.”

We couldn’t agree more. Our Skills Boost program is already providing valuable real-life work experience through local cafes and restaurants—and we're proud to be building a more inclusive Shoalhaven together.

We had a blast with Nowra High students at our Post School Taster Day — from creating the fanciest ice cream sundaes (yes, there was a competition), to playing games, painting, and having real conversations about life after school.

From cheerleading championships and cowgirl dreams to newfound independence in the kitchen, Lorna’s journey is a celebration of joy, growth, and community.
