Shoe stretching “the last resort” 👟

Sometimes we can stretch a shoe to gain a little extra room and make it wearable. But ideally, a shoe should fit properly from the start. Stretching can help… but it can’t completely change the shape of the shoe.
Start with the right fit, then tweak if needed.

Not every foot problem needs orthotics 👣
Sometimes simple shoe modifications can make a big difference. Here we’ve added a lateral (outside) flare to help improve foot control and hold the foot in a better position.
Blended neatly into the shoe.
Supportive without looking bulky.

We were recently asked to help a patient with a complex foot deformity and a high risk of skin breakdown — where regular shoes were no longer safe or comfortable.

This made-to-order NIMCO shoe was created to gently support their changing foot shape, reduce pressure, and protect their skin so they can stay mobile and independent.

These are the moments that remind us why custom work matters — because the right shoe can truly change someone’s day, and their confidence to keep moving.
