The Joint Physiotherapy and Allied Health is a multidisciplinary allied health clinic in Nundah. Our services include physiotherapy, exercise physiology, remedial massage therapy, podiatry, dietetics and diabetes education. We also run group exercise classes, Clinical Pilates, and Diabetes Management Programs. We service Nundah, Northgate, Banyo, Wavell Heights, Toombul, Clayfield, Chermside, Boondall, Albion, Woolloowin, Kedron, Taigum. We use a holistic, evidence based approach and pride ourselves on using the latest approaches to provide the best outcome for our patients.

📉 Plateauing. Burnout. Injuries. Drop-out.
The data is clear: early sport specialisation (with gymnastics being the main exception) is linked to:

• Increased risk of burnout
• Performance plateaus or stalled development
• Higher injury rates — especially overuse injuries
• Early withdrawal from sport altogether

👉 One of the simplest ways to reduce these risks?
Expose kids to more than one sport — ideally across different disciplines.

⚽ + 🏉 = similar demands
⚽ + 🚣‍♂️ = very different stimulus (and far more protective)

At Youth Development Programming (YDP), we work with athletes aged 8–18 and deliberately develop a broad athletic base, including:

• Strength
• Power
• Speed
• Coordination & agility
• Flexibility
• Safe exposure to strength & conditioning
• Select sport-specific skill integration

This isn’t about doing less sport — it’s about doing smarter, more appropriate training at the right age.

If you’re between 8 and 18 years old, our Youth Development Program might be exactly what you’re looking for.

This is a physiotherapist-led training program, designed and delivered by Physiotherapist and S&C Coach Lochlan Higgins, that gives young athletes age-appropriate programming, guidance, and feedback so they can grow safely, confidently, and with purpose.

Whether your child plays sport, wants to improve their fitness pillars, or just loves being active, Youth Development Training helps build the foundations that truly matter as they move toward adulthood — things like:

✅ Healthy bone development
✅ Improved hormonal health through consistent, structured movement
✅ Stronger athletic capacity across all sports
✅ A solid understanding of strength & conditioning basics
✅ Exposure to a physiotherapist weekly
✅ Increased confidence in physical, social, and cultural challenges
✅ A pathway to long-term performance, not just short-term gains

We’re based in Nundah and Zillmere, and we’re passionate about helping young people learn how to train well, train smart, and train safely. With so many kids either under-training, over-training, or following programs not designed for their age or stage of development, this is your chance to set them up for success.

Our team of physiotherapists use these skills to promote, maintain and restore your well-being so that you can perform and enjoy your chosen sport, work or everyday activities.

Our physiotherapists are passionate about providing the highest standard of care and continually review the latest research and undertake ongoing training and specialisation.

Our physiotherapy services are located in our Nundah, Northgate and Chermside locations and service the surround suburbs of Banyo, Nudgee, Wavel Heights, Clayfield, Ascot, Hamilton, Hendra and Northshore.
