Habit stacking is a technique where you attach a new habit to an existing one to make it easier to incorporate into your routine and build new behaviors. By leveraging established routines, you reduce the mental effort required to start a new habit, making it more likely to stick.

Leveraging Existing Cues: Your brain is wired to respond to cues from established habits. By linking a new habit to an existing one, you create a clear cue that triggers the new behavior.

Reducing Mental Load: Instead of trying to remember to do a new task, you simply associate it with something you already do regularly.

Building Momentum: As you consistently pair the new habit with the existing one, it becomes more automatic and ingrained.

For example if you want to drink more water pair this new habit with an existing one like brushing your teeth. Have a glass in the bathroom so it's easy to do the new habit. Make the new habit as easy and visible as possible.

What giving 100% looks like

To give 100 percent means to put forth your absolute maximum effort or energy into something, doing everything you can possibly do to achieve a goal.

The key word being POSSIBLY

If your cup is only 50% full and you give 50% that day then you gave everything you POSSIBLY could. That was 100% of what you had.
It's easy to think we didn't do enough, give enough, achieve enough that day but the truth is maximum effort differs daily, consistency is what achieves goals, not perfection.

Walking to regulate the nervous system

Increased Blood Flow and Circulation: Increased blood flow to the brain and body, which can have a positive impact on mood and overall well-being.

HPA Axis Regulation: Positive influence on the HPA axis, which is responsible for the body's stress response.

Mood Boost: Walking can help boost mood and reduce feelings of anxiety and stress by releasing those feel good brain chemicals.

Improved Sleep: Regular exercise Improves sleep quality, which is essential for a well-regulated nervous system.

If you are experiencing heightened emotions and stress, take a quick 15 minute walk!

Constantly measuring ourself against others can lead to unhappiness, dissatisfaction and sometimes depression. It undermines our ability to appreciate our own lives and achievements. When we compare ourselves to others, we often fall into the trap of feeling inadequate, envious, or resentful.
In the age of social media, where curated versions of other people's lives are often presented online, the message of "comparison is the thief of joy" is more relevant than ever.

Instead of comparing ourselves to others, it's crucial to focus on our own strengths, accomplishments, and unique journey.

Strength training has obvious physical benefits but it also impacts our mental health.

Most of us know that exercise releases those feel good hormones which improve our mood and mindset. But did you know Just 3x30 minute sessions per week is shown to be protective against degenerative brain diseases eg dementia. It improves our executive functioning: Attention, planning, problem solving, and working memory. Strength training is also shown to increase the volume of the hippocampus in the brain, which is responsible for regulating our emotions.

5 pillars of resilience
🏛Energy: physical activity, sleep, nutrition, other consumption (what you read, see, hear)
🏛Future focus: having a purpose, goals, self control and immediate gratification inhibition
🏛Inner drive: motivation, dedication and self value
🏛Flexible thinking: open minded, continuous learning and development, positive mindset and framing.
🏛Relationships: healthy relationships, support network and community engagement

These 5 areas of life are the key to happiness and success, they allow us to bounce back from adversity, have the mental and physical strength to get through tough times, they make us feel safe, supported, have self belief and confidence in out abilities.

People who score high in all 5 areas are less likely to be depressed, have better self esteem, have healthier relationships, are less likely to suffer physical health issues, have higher recovery rates, and are less likely to be impacted long term by traumatic events.
