Reiki is a Japanese system of hands-on healing & distant healing (L2 attunement required for distant), as well as a spiritual method for personal growth & transformation. Reiki energy is the healing energy of the Universe. Reiki is a life force matrix of non-dualistic energy, which permeates all things. A Reiki practitioner harnesses this power via the Reiki attunements, which, in effect, switch on a person’s ability to transfer Reiki Healing to oneself and others. The attunements must be conducted “hands on” and cannot be done via an internet course. Reiki attunements consist of Reiki L1 -First Degree, Reiki L2 - Second Degree & Reiki L3 - Third Degree (Master/Teacher). These attunements are a transmission of energy, which activate the ability to utilise Reiki. Attunement into Reiki is given by a Reiki teacher and is someone who has the precise methods for transferring this ability to others. Once this alignment is complete, the practitioner can utilise this healing energy in a variety of ways to restore the body, mind and emotions into a harmonious state. Often people assume the healing energy of Reiki when applied to another comes from the practitioner’s own life force energy, where in fact, the Reiki energy simply passes through the practitioner, much like electricity through a wire, they act as the vessel for the energy. About Shamanic Healing
Shamanism is a religious practice that involves a practitioner (Shaman or Saman) interacting with the Spirit World through altered states of consciousness (ASC), such as trance. The goal of this is to direct spirits or spiritual energies into the physical world for the purpose of healing, divination, or to aid transformational healing within human beings. Commonly a Shaman “enters the body” of the patient to confront the spiritual infirmity and heals by banishing the infectious spirit. Although the causes of dis-ease lie in the spiritual realm, inspired by malicious spirits, both spiritual and physical methods are used to heal. Shamanic training varies in length, but generally takes years, and there are 7 vital stages of shamanic initiation that a Shaman must undergo to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to become an effective shamanic healer. An initiated Shaman Guide will know these, so please be sure to question any shamanic practitioner in detail prior to working with them. Reiki v’s Shamanic Healing
The difference is comparable to Reiki being a laser beam of healing light and shamanic healing being a scalpel. They work differently in that Reiki is a pushed beam of energetic frequency towards you and shamanic healing will go in and work specifically on the core or root of what is causing the dis-ease and remove it like a surgeon would. Any type of shamanic healing will include a journey of some sort so that the Shaman or shamanic practitioner can “see” the state of energy. A shamanic healer doesn’t need to be a Shaman in order to be skilled at shamanic practices, but it would be wise to use someone who has been initiated as a Shaman and undergone the training via the initiation. Within the parameters of Reiki, there is very little danger, and possibilities of great benefits. Within the parameters of shamanic healing, there is always danger in obtaining results that weren’t/aren’t necessarily accounted for.
