At first, you think it’s just a bad period.

But over time, you start noticing it doesn’t feel the same every cycle. Some days are manageable. Some hit harder than they should.

And without really thinking about it, you begin adjusting your life around it like cancelling plans, planning ahead, pushing through when you can, and just dealing with it when you can’t.

Painful periods are common, but that doesn’t mean you’re supposed to just put up with them.
If your periods are consistently painful or heavier than they should be, it can sometimes be linked to a condition called adenomyosis.

Most people haven’t heard of it, yet it affects 1 in 5 women in Australia.

📍Some common signs:
• Heavy, prolonged and painful periods
• Severe cramps (more than your usual)
• Pelvic pain or pressure
• Pain during s*x

📍The exact cause isn’t fully understood, but it may be linked to factors including:
• changes in the uterine lining growing into the muscle
• inflammation (especially after childbirth)
• developmental issues before birth
• hormonal influences like estrogen.

It’s also more common if you’re in your 30s–50s, have had children, or previous uterine surgery like C-sections.

📍Recognising it means women can finally access:
✔️ Better diagnosis
✔️ Tailored treatment
✔️ Real relief after years of just coping

If you suspect adenomyosis, let’s talk about what you’re experiencing.
You don’t have to just put up with it. We can help you make sense of it and figure out what support actually looks like for you. 🌸

👉 We’re also putting together a full blog on Adenomyosis to break this down properly.

If you’re pregnant and trying to stay active, you might be wondering what exercise still feels right for your body.

It can feel confusing and even a little unfamiliar, especially as your body changes week by week 🌸

While Pilates is a beneficial way to stay active during pregnancy, not every movement from a standard class is suitable as your body evolves.

At Women’s Health Hub, our instructors offer pregnancy and postpartum support across both our Studio & Rehab Pilates sessions and group Mat Pilates classes.

We require all clients to complete an initial assessment, with ongoing reassessments as needed, ensuring your program stays aligned with your body’s changing needs.

If you’re a mum or mum-to-be and want guidance to keep your body safely moving during pregnancy and after birth, don’t hesitate to reach out 🌸

Pregnancy comes with a lot of changes and not all of them are talked about.

But as your body changes, it’s not always clear what’s normal… and what you might need support with.

Like when you:
• Leak a little when you sneeze or laugh
• Feel heaviness or pressure down below
• Get aches in your lower back, hips, or pelvis
• Find it hard to turn in bed or get out of the car
• Or something just feels… not quite right

These can be common changes, but with the right support, they can be managed effectively.

That’s where our Women’s Health Hub team can support you 🤍

Seeing our team during pregnancy isn’t only about managing pain or discomfort. It’s also about:
• Supporting your body as it adapts and changes
• Providing guidance for safe, effective movement and exercise
• Preparing your pelvic floor and body for birth and post-partum
• Building confidence and providing education for your pregnancy, labour, birth and post-partum journey

Many women start around 12 weeks to build a strong foundation,
review again around 20 weeks for a personalised plan,
and then prepare for birth around 34–36 weeks.
Some women may benefit from more frequent support, while others need less - this is something we guide you through during your sessions.

Your care is always personalised to you, your changing body, and your individual needs 🤍

If you’re not quite sure when to start, this guide is for you 🤍

You don’t need to wait until something hurts. 🙏

A women’s health check-in isn’t about fixing your body.

It’s about understanding it, listening to it, and supporting it in a way that actually works for you.

If you’ve been putting off a women’s health check or noticing small changes in your body, this is a gentle place to start.

Did you know during a C-section an Obstetrician will make an incision through seven different layers of tissues?

1. Skin
2. Substantaneous fat
3. Fascia
4. Muscle (generally not cut but carefully separated to allow access)
5. Peritoneum
6. Uterus
7. Amniotic Sac

That’s why your body takes time to heal and does not follow a straight line. Some days may feel easy, others can feel slow, tight, or uncomfortable.

This C-Section Awareness Month, we want to honour mums who’ve undergone this major surgery for the kind of strength that’s quiet but powerful.

And if you’re a mum who feels like you need a bit of support with your postpartum journey or your C-section scar, we’re here when you’re ready 🤍

Every expecting mum should know about this little machine for labour pain relief 🤱✨

Labour is tough, we won’t lie. But it doesn’t mean you have to be in pain, the whole time.

An Obstetric TENS machine is a safe, drug-free way to help manage labour pain and many women love having it in their birth toolkit.

✨ What it does: Sends gentle electrical pulses through the skin to stimulate nerves, which can help block pain signals and support your body’s natural pain-relieving chemicals (like endorphins).

✨ When to start: Early in labour, so your body can get used to the sensation and release endorphins.

✨ Why it helps: It’s natural and non-invasive pain relief, and it’s safe for you and the baby.

If you’d like a bit of extra support during labour, we have Obstetric TENS machines available for hire. We can arrange the most suitable one for you. ❤

If you’re into football (or any sport), DON’T SKIP this 💪

Most injuries don’t actually happen during the game… they start before it.

This is a simple 5-minute prehab routine our sports physio Mikayla swears by before football. And we’ve cut it to under 2 minutes so you can save it and come back to it anytime!

It’s designed to gently prep your body for what’s coming:
• Thoracic & hip mobility
• Single-leg control
• Lower limb activation
• Load absorption & power
• Tendon loading

Taking a few minutes to tick these off before your warm-up is a minimal effort strategy to reduce injury risk and help you move better on the field.

If you’d like guidance tailored to your body and your sport, you can book an initial consultation with our physiotherapist, Mikayla 🌸

We’d love to hear yours too - what’s one thing you keep coming back to? Share it in the comments, it might be exactly what someone else needs today ✨
