On this day, we pause to remember and honour the legacy of Tom Bowen who passed away on this date in 1982.

Tom's intuitive understanding of the body's natural capacity for healing transformed the ways we approach physical wellness through touch. His gentle approach continues to bring relief to many people around the world.

While he may no longer be with us, Tom Bowen's compassionate spirit and dedication to helping others live on through the practitioners who carry his work forward.

Today, we reflect on his incredible contribution and the positive ripple effect his method continues to have in the lives of so many.

How can we support our Senior Dogs?

From the greying around the face and the stinky breath, to mobility issues and incontinence... it's so sad to see the degenerative changes in our best fur friend who sticks by us through and through.

As an animal therapist it's truly amazing to see the lengths that some people go too to assist their dogs as they reach their later years. There are so many things that I have learnt from Bowen Therapy that I wish I had knew sooner to help support my senior dog who sadly passed away about 7 years ago.

Check out this review of Humphrey’s Bowen treatments!!

Our 11 year old border collie suffers from an autoimmune disease and has been medicated for a number of years to assist with this.

He was suffering from hair loss and dry leathery flaky skin and the medication wasn’t proving to be very effective in helping with this, even after trying multiple different types of medications and ointments from the vet.

And then we tried Bowen for Dogs. Andrea was very patient with Humphrey, even coming to our own home so that he would feel more comfortable and at ease in familiar surroundings.

We couldn’t believe the difference that the Bowen therapy made! Even after a couple of short sessions Humphrey’s hair started to grow back, his coat was thicker and shinier. His rashes and leathery skin started to clear, and he just seemed so much happier. He is now a completely different dog than what he was, and it’s honestly transformed his life.

We highly recommend Andrea, and if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn’t have been able to comprehend how such a noninvasive, gentle therapy could be so effective.

What is Bowen Therapy?

It is a unique manual therapy for large and small animals and involves a series of specific moves over muscles, tendons and the soft tissue fibres of the animal’s body. Its very specific and positive impact on the body’s connective tissue network, the fascia, can assist repair and recovery and maintain general health. It is suitable for animals of any age, from pets to high performers.

Bowen Therapy is effective for:
• muscle stiffness and injury
• improving joint mobility
• complementing veterinary care for chronic conditions i.e. arthritis
• assisting in rehabilitation and recovery from injury or surgery
