📚 Exam time approaching? Here's how to support the young people in your life:
✅ Ask what they actually need - Don't assume! Let them tell you what kind of support would be most helpful
✅ Normalise the struggle - Remind them that finding exams challenging is completely normal and part of the learning process
✅ Connect them with resources - Encourage them to reach out to teachers and use available academic support services
Remember: Sometimes the best support is simply listening and being there 💚

Today is R U OK Day 💛💚 - a reminder that sometimes the simplest question can make the biggest difference.
Check in on your mates, your siblings, that classmate who seems a bit off lately. And remember, it's totally okay to not be okay sometimes.
If you're struggling, reach out - whether it's to a friend, family member, teacher, to us here at headspace or a helpline like Lifeline (13 11 14).
Your mental health matters, and so do you.

Content Warning: Mentions of su***de attempts, thoughts of hopelessness, isolation, and mental ill-health
Today is World Su***de Prevention Day. This year’s theme — Changing the Narrative on Su***de — is a powerful reminder that we can replace silence, stigma, and misunderstanding with openness, empathy, and connection.
Today, our YFC member Natalie bravely shares her lived experience with su***de — and the many things that have supported her mental health journey. By speaking out, she’s helping to change the narrative and remind others that they're not alone.

If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of su***de, please reach out. You're not alone, and support is available:
Lifeline – 13 11 14 (24/7 crisis support)
Kids Helpline – 1800 55 1800 (for young people aged 5–25)
headspace - 1800 650 890 (for young people 12 - 25, 3pm - 10pm everyday)

1 in 10 people in Australia will experience an eating disorder in their lifetime. When we know why, we can provide better support. We know eating disorders disproportionally affect young people, but only 1 in 10 seek help.
As headspace, we can support the prevention, early identification and early intervention to young people experiencing eating disorders.

🌈 Tomorrow is Wear It Purple Day 💜
By showing support for LGBTIQA+ young people, we're doing more than wearing a color - we're helping create safer, more inclusive spaces that protect youth mental health.
When rainbow youth feel seen, accepted, and celebrated for who they are, it makes a real difference.
Simple acts of allyship can help reduce isolation, build resilience, and remind young people they belong.
Wear purple tomorrow, but more importantly, carry that support forward every day. 💜

It's no secret that navigating the 'social sphere' is difficult as a young person. This can mean facing challenging situations, like alcohol and other drugs, intimacy and relationships with their peers.
These challenges can be tricky to navigate for both young people and those caring for them.
Join headspace to share tips and tricks with other adults who have lived experience in supporting young people with navigating peer pressure.
