The most common mistake we see is returning to running/play without strengthening the hamstring tendon first. With tendinopathies, it’s important to start with isometric exercises to build strength and endurance in the tendon, then progress to strengthening and functional movements!

The appropriate time to return to play with hamstring tendinopathies can be difficult, as it varies person to person.

Not strengthening the glutes
-For the best outcomes, glute strengthening is essential! Having strong glutes is also a great preventative measure for hip related injuries!

Activity modification
-It’s important to modify daily activities that are reaggrevating your hip pain! With hip bursitis, compression over the hip such as laying on your sore side should be avoided!

Ice
-Great recovery measure to reduce the swelling around the bursa!
