Feeling dried out from too much salt or sun?...Try some shea butter.
Shea butter is extracted from the kernels of the African Shea tree and has a rich, buttery consistency. It absorbs quickly into the skin due to its high concentration of plant lipids (such as stearic, oleic, palmitic and linoleic acids) and vitamin E, leaving it smooth and moisturised.
Try it in a bath – use 1-2 tsp in a warm bath to coat, protect and nourish the skin. Shea butter is fabulous for dry, delicate and aging skin as it softens the skin, is an antioxidant and enhances skin elasticity via collagen production. I also recommend shea butter in conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, as in addition it displays anti-inflammatory effects. It can be incorporated into body butters and lip balms to nourish and moisturise the skin. Buy it in its raw, unrefined form.
Enjoy!
