STRESS LESS: BE vs Do: Parasympathetic NS vs Sympathetic NS

Such a treat to be on the receiving end of a RELAXING, nurturing, restorative skin treatment. THE CHILL: Receiving a very SPECIAL facial, inc LED lights, Yoga Nidra/guided meditation & the best skin care & facial experience I’ve ever had the pleasure to experience!! Thank you talented beauties for looking after my skin & brows 💕

Why is it important to invest in moments/activities/treatments that make you STRESS LESS as part of your SELF CARE?

Well, let’s talk about STRESS baby

Stress is the body’s normal reaction to any change, that occurs physically, mentally & emotionally, that requires an adjustment or response on our part. It is a normal part of life, where you can experience stress from your environment, your body, your thoughts.

Small levels of stress from time to time is healthy for us as it motivates us to adapt to make a change accordingly & helps us avoid danger. However prolonged stress that is intense & continuous can be detrimental to all levels of our health. Our body’s have inbuilt mechanisms, to keep us alive & also protected from any perceived threats.

When the brain perceives a threat, it activates the body’s sympathetic nervous system, known as the “fight-or-flight” stress response, to prepare you to be alert, ready, vigilant to best deal with the perceived threat, stimulating physiological responses to keep us in a heightened state. Once the threat is gone, the body's normal & opposite reaction is to return to a relaxed DEACTIVATED state, the parasympathetic nervous system, where “rest-digest-repair-healing” occurs.

Unfortunately, the demands of modern life means that many of us stay in this activated, heightened sympathetic stress response. The constant pressures in everyday life to be productive, alert, constantly “DOING” staying BUSY makes it hard to switch off and unwind into the relaxation state of just “BEING” in the parasympathetic nervous system of rest and reset. Over time chronic stress & chronic activation of the sympathetic nervous system can lead to serious physical, emotional & mental health problems. Stress has been shown to worsen or bring on certain symptoms or diseases, and is linked to 6 of the leading causes of death, including su***de. Stress management is crucial to help reset & unwind your bodies alarm system, helping your mind & body’s threshold to adapt to stress with more resilience, therefore being triggered less that activated state.

That is a big FOCUS of what I offer in my work, & what I found to be a really practical way to help support people with their mental health & stress regulation is by tactile – touch therapies I offer. I am relaxation specialist & really help others by supporting & regulate their nervous system & stress related conditions, by facilitating offering a deep relaxation therapy, helping others to “switch off” & reach a deep relaxation meditative state, whether it be through my nurturing massage, Reiki energy healing, hypnotherapy, guided meditations, which help activate the parasympathetic nervous system: where deep REST, RESTORATION, REPAIR & the bodies innate natural healing mechanisms can take place.. IS WHAT I LOVE TO DO.

Phoebe

So everyone...take note and please help our cause and the oceans and tell your local cafe about our re-usable straws.
If people want a straw then they should cough up the $2 and raise their awareness at the same time....get them into the hands of the children NOW!

Hell yes get rid of those!

... And that's only in the UK. Plastic straws pollute our oceans and cause serious harm to marine animals like turtles. It's time for McDonald's to kick its habit.

And when you are ready, we have the re-usable straw to suit your needs. Get these straws into the hands of the next gene...

And when you are ready, we have the re-usable straw to suit your needs. Get these straws into the hands of the next generation, show them the way!

The anti-straw push grew when video of a sea turtle with plastic stuck in its nose went viral.

Three hundred. That's how many plastic straws members of the Charleston Surfrider Foundation picked up in one hour during their Folly Beach sweep in May. "Because straws can't be recycled in Charleston County, they're just going into the ocean or landfills," says Kate Dittloff, Surfrider Charleston…

The hardest part isn't it. STOP making money by producing throwaway products. The bottom line versus MOTHER EARTH.
If you have to use it, try to find a reusable, long-lasting or biodegradable one!

How lucky we are to live where we do....lets not F&*@ this up!

How lucky we are to live where we do....lets not F&*@ this up!

These popsicles might look like the sort of thing you'd expect to find being served from a quirky organic artisanal food truck, but one bite could leave you very ill indeed, because they're actually made from sewage found in the polluted waters of Taiwan.
