A New Era for Aged Care

Today marks a major milestone in aged care across Australia. The new Aged Care Act 2024 and the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards officially come into effect from 1 November 2025.

These reforms place older Australians firmly at the centre of care — bringing a stronger focus on dignity, choice, safety, and quality in every part of aged care.

For Purpose Aged Care is proud to embrace this change. We’ve been preparing for months to ensure our homes, teams, and systems reflect the spirit and standards of the new reforms.

You’ll see these changes in how we listen, how we personalise care, and how we keep improving to deliver the best possible experience for residents and families.

Together, we’re shaping a future for aged care that is more respectful, transparent, and person-centred.

What an amazing day we have had today, today was our annual Breast Cancer Brunch. Today is one of the many fundraisers we do throughout the year. Thank you to Panduka and the team from Catering Industries for this amazing fundraiser Brunch. All donations go directly to Breast Cancer Research.

Residents at Cardinia have had a fabulous time today with outings to the Bambini reading group and then to Garden World this afternoon. Great fun on a dreary day 😀

Cardinia residents have been having a good week, trips out getting ice creams, going Spooky at the Bakery, creative Diamond Art and Cooking Appreciation making the viral Tik Tok recipe of Chesseburger Tacos 😋

And just like that the Sun 🌞 starts to shine and we blow the dust off and get some well deserved fresh air. Today the residents have been busy tending to the communal gardens and having morning tea with the kinder kids. This afternoon a few of the ladies in Diamond Art are completing their projects ready to the Cardinia Christmas Fete in November 🤗

What fun we have had today at Oktoberfest. Staff and residents at CCAC had a brilliant arm chair travel with Rose whilst the rest of the Well-being Team entertained our residents with dancing and German Sausages, Sauerkraut and mustard
The giant Pretzels 🥨 topped off a great afternoon.

Footie feaver was at its highest today at Cardinia Community Aged Care with a beautiful meal from Catering Industries and games in the morning, followed by the presentation of the tipping winner and wooden spoon this afternoon.

Knit and Knatter group has proudly displayed a beautifully knitted Cardinia Community AFL Blanket just in time for Grand Final Week.

Words can’t describe my excitement and gratitude for these wonderful ladies in our community and their hard work, skills and dedication. They are truly inspiring.

We worked on this project for the past 3 months, individually, and as a team. The blanket features all 18 teams along with the AFL and 2025 . Each team is made up of 9 knitted squares, all of which are stitched together to make team colours.

In all honesty, one of the most memorable and magical things about our community is the way an idea takes form and turns into a wave of handmade creations. Each Tuesday the group would meet and the atmosphere was filled full of connections, kindness, creativity and gratitude.

Here’s to more making, sharing and caring together.
