At Penhall Funerals, we are honoured to work alongside many faiths and religions within our community. As the longest standing funeral home in Orange, we have always considered it a privilege to conduct services that reflect the beliefs, traditions and values of families from many different backgrounds, including Anglican services within our local Anglican Churches.

On Wednesday 27th May, we had the honour of conducting the Funeral Service for the Late Penelope Suzanne Klein, known as Penny to many, at Holy Trinity Anglican Church. Penny was a faithful Christian woman who loved God deeply and cherished her family above all else. She will be fondly remembered for her warm smile, kind heart and gentle presence.

The service was beautifully accompanied by a violinist, vocalist and organist, whose music created a heartfelt and meaningful farewell for Penny. The much loved hymn “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” was played during the service, a fitting tribute to Penny’s unwavering faith and devotion throughout her life. A large gathering of family and friends filled the church, reflecting the love and respect so many people held for her.

We sincerely thank The Rev. Andy Martin, Rector of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, for conducting Penny’s service with care and compassion.

Thank you also to Penny’s family for allowing us to care for her and assist in honouring her life and faith. It was our privilege.

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4

On Friday 22nd May, we had the privilege of caring for Mr. Roy Norman Ferguson, a true blue Australian and a deeply respected member of the Rural Fire Service. Roy dedicated many years of service to his community and received awards for his bravery and commitment to helping others.

Above all else, Roy loved his family dearly, and this was reflected beautifully throughout his farewell service. In a touching tribute, Roy’s grandchildren placed sticky notes on his coffin, each with one word that described their grandfather. Words such as “wise”, “protector” and “hero” spoke volumes about the man he was and the legacy he leaves behind.

The men from the local Men’s Shed lovingly built Roy’s handmade coffin, complete with rope handles, creating a meaningful and personal tribute in honour of his life.

A large crowd gathered and filled The Penhall Memorial Chapel, a true reflection of the respect and admiration so many people had for Roy.

We sincerely thank Roy’s family for allowing us to care for him and assist in honouring his life. It was our honour 💙

We recently had the honour of caring for the Late Raymond Charles Archer, better known as Ray, at his Graveside Funeral Service held at March Anglican Cemetery on Friday 15th May.

In true Ray fashion, family and friends pulled out their very best jeans to farewell him. Whether ripped, paint stained or covered in oil, Ray loved his jeans just as much as he loved tinkering away in the shed. Known for making things, fixing things and occasionally making things explode, Ray will be remembered for his unique character, humour and hardworking nature.

Ray’s love for his family was evident throughout the service, with a heartfelt tribute as attendees sprinkled dirt from Mullion Creek onto his coffin before he was laid to rest.

A special thank you to Graham, who piped beautifully as family and friends arrived and again as Ray was escorted to his final resting place.

Thank you to Ray’s family for allowing us to care for him and be part of such a meaningful farewell. It was truly our honour 💙
