Have you been enjoying the signs of spring? More light, warmth (maybe not today but surely it's coming) and the energy of flow and new beginnings.
We've been using the quality of flow and of the water element as a support in our meditation and relexation practices this week in my yoga sessions.
In yoga and ayurveda the spring season is connected to the subtle form of the water element. Melting, thawing, clensing, nourishing, ...✨
There are obviously many functions this element looks after in the physical body but lets look at its quality in emotional health - balanced water element supports emotions such as compassion, love, and empathy, as well as feelings of calmness and centeredness. In excess it creates too strong emotional bonds, attachement. On the other hand, when water element is insufficient in the body, it creates lack of bonding leading to feelings of isolation and detachement.

They're here for you to recharge your energy levels, open up the chest and heart 💖, relax the back and more.
Practise pranayama (breathwork), deep relaxation, sensory withdrawal and meditation in supported restorative position if your energy levels don't allow otherwise.
Use rolled blankets, cushions, pillows, ... be creative.
Avoid overextension of the lower back (as I don't do in the photo 😊) by placing your bolster or other props from the midback up.

Do you ever talk to yourself? I'm sure you do! There seems to be many you(s) in there doesn't it? So do you talk to your mind or your body? To your heart and soul? Who is the part that judges you or even argues with you? And who is the one part always on your side? Can you be the mind to talk to it or does it mean that you are not the mind if your can talk to it or to yourself?
And the most important question is - who is the boss? Who or what is the real one or the real Self as we speak of it in yogic self-enquiry?

Anyway, you will never know unless you turn inwards. Yes, I'm goint to point you in the same direction over and over again, the only direction....✨😊
And it really is perfectly compatible with everything you do right now. You just have to add one little element of self-awareness into everything you do. It's simple but not easy.
Make it easier with practices that relax the body and calm the mind so that self-awareness is possible. Mindful movement susch as tai-chi, qigong, yoga & meditation and mindful massage therapy.

You need a simple and effective way to turn your senses inwards. Always reacting to the thoughts and outside world is exhausting! Stop depleting your energies and let the sensation of beautiful massage to take you back to focus on yourself. Because you don't want to miss the massage sensations right? You have to be there to enjoy it. You have to be present in the body!

Both giving and receiving massage is for me a part of yoga - pratyahara. Pratyahara is a part of yoga mostly translated as the withdrawal of the senses from their external objects. That's what we all need more than ever before as there're so many more distractions these days. Massage is a nice and tangible tool for practising pratyahara.

My home base small studio is a space to return to the now, find spaciousness in the body and mind and move towards higher awareness.
You can also choose to enjoy a lovely massage from remedial to relaxation and Ayurvedic.
I’m a senior yoga teacher (Yoga Australia) with special interest and training in meditation & a massage therapist.
Spaces are limited so booking is essential.
