At the WAHS, we talk a lot about looking after each other on and off the field – but that starts with looking after ourselves. One of the best ways we can do that is by booking in for a 715 Health Check with the Orange Aboriginal Medical Service (OAMS).

The 715 is a free annual health check for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and it’s more than just a quick once-over. It’s about checking your physical, mental, social, and spiritual health, spotting any issues early, and making a plan to keep you strong for the long run.

As OAMS CEO Jamie Newman says:

“A 715 Health Check is significant not only for identifying issues of illness and disease in communities, but it's a tool to connect with our people… We want to keep our people well.”

We want the same for our Warriors family! players, committee, volunteers, and supporters. The stronger and healthier we are, the stronger our club and community will be.

So let’s make it happen... call OAMS today and book your 715 Health Check. Do it for yourself, for your family, and for the team.

“Little footsteps, big future”
OAMS recently celebrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day and we were lucky to host such a fun event on a sunny day!

We are really privileged to invest our time into the families we work with each day, especially supporting the next generation. The honour is not lost on us that we get to be part of their journey and shape the future for these little humans.

Thank you to the Western NSW LHD Child and Family Health Nurse Team and to everyone who helped out and dropped by, especially the entire preschool class from Imagine Childcare ❤ - these special days are made so much easier by your support. Thanks to AOD Hub for letting us use your space to create chaos and memories.

Are you eligible for the National Lung Cancer Screening Program?
For people aged 50 to 70 and who smoke or have quit in the last 10 years, the program aims to reduce illness and deaths from lung cancer by detecting it early using a free screening test. The screening test is called a low-dose computed tomography (CT) scan.

Do you know what you need to do to help the kids in your life ‘reach every S-milestone’, taking them on a journey from birth through their initial teeth ... and beyond?

During this year's Dental Health Week social media campaign running over the last week, our OAMS Dental Team are recommending everyone to follow these key smile-stone elements of good oral healthcare:
Brushing twice per day using a fluoride toothpaste.
Cleaning in between teeth daily using floss or interdental brushes.
Eating a nutritious diet, low in sugar.
Seeing your dentist regularly.
