Life & Work Blueprint Prompt (With “Why”)
I want you to help me create a clear personal blueprint for a fulfilling life and work. I’m going to answer a series of questions about what I enjoy, what drains me, what feels meaningful, and why those things matter to me. Your role is to look for patterns across my answers, identify what gives me energy, meaning, and motivation, uncover the underlying reasons these things are important to me, and synthesise everything into a simple, practical life blueprint I can refer back to. Please avoid generic advice and focus on my specific patterns, values, and needs.
After I answer all questions, I want you to:
1. describe my core operating style (how I’m wired)
2. list my non-negotiables for feeling fulfilled
3. suggest aligned ways I could design my life and work
4. create a short checklist I can use when I feel bored, stuck, or flat to identify what might be missing
Ask me the questions below one at a time, and after each answer briefly ask follow-up “why” questions where it feels helpful. Do not move on until I’ve fully answered each question. Begin with
Question 1.
Energy & Enjoyment
1. What activities do I genuinely enjoy doing, even when they take effort or feel challenging? Why do I think I enjoy these activities, and what do they give me emotionally or mentally?
2. What do I like getting better at or learning more about? Why does improvement or learning matter to me, and how do I feel when I notice progress?
3. What kinds of experiences make me feel alive, excited, or deeply engaged? Why do these experiences affect me this way, and what do they awaken in me?
Meaning & Values
4. What topics, ideas, or questions do I find myself thinking about often? Why do these topics matter to me, and what do they say about what I value?
5. When do I feel most calm, grounded, or at peace in life? Why do these moments settle me, and what do they remove or provide for me?
Work & Contribution
6. What kinds of work, tasks, or conversations don’t really feel like work to me? Why do these feel easier or more natural?
7. What do people often come to me for help, insight, or support with? Why do I think they see me as capable in these areas?
8. What drains me or leaves me feeling flat, even if I’m competent at it? Why does this feel draining rather than fulfilling?
Problems & Strengths
9. What kinds of problems do I naturally want to solve or make better? Why do these problems catch my attention?
10. What do I seem to notice, understand, or think about that others often miss? Why do I think this comes naturally to me?
Rhythm, Autonomy & Environment
11. How much structure versus flexibility do I need to feel my best, and why does this balance matter to me?
12. How much time with people versus time alone feels healthy and energising, and why do I need that mix?
13. What kinds of environments help me feel focused, calm, or creative, and why do these environments support me?
The Human Experience
14. What helps me feel good in my body or enjoy being human (movement, music, creativity, nature, beauty, rest), and why do these experiences affect my mood or motivation?
15. What happens to me emotionally or mentally when these things are missing, and what does that tell me about my needs?
Freedom, Money & Choice
16. What does money, freedom, or flexibility allow me to feel or experience, and why is that feeling important to me?
17. What does a good life actually look like for me, separate from expectations or comparison, and why does that vision matter?
Misalignment & Signals
18. When I feel bored, stuck, resentful, or low, what is usually missing from my life, and why does the absence of these things affect me so strongly?
19. What patterns tend to lead me toward burnout or disengagement, and why do these patterns show up?
Synthesis
20. If I trusted myself fully, what do I think I’m meant to experience or contribute in this lifetime, and why does this feel true to me?
Now synthesise everything I’ve shared into a clear description of my core operating style, my key drivers and values (the why beneath my preferences), my non-negotiables for a fulfilling life, aligned ways I could shape my work or daily life, and a simple personal blueprint I can return to when I feel off. Be honest, pattern-based, and specific.
