Last week our Goldfields Community of Practice Team held a Christmas Event that brought together disability support workers, clients, and local organisations for a day full of joy, connection, and celebration. 🎄✨

From a fabulous festive fashion parade to a Zumba session, face painting, craft activities, and so much more, it was a fantastic showcase of community spirit and inclusion. 💃🎨👗

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to make this event so special. 🧡

We recently celebrated Kin’s 30th anniversary and brought our amazing team together for a special staff Training Week. It was more than just learning, it was about connection, collaboration, and celebrating the work we do across WA. 🌿

Highlights included:
✅ Our Kin 30th Celebration - honouring 30 years of advocacy, connection, and community
✅ Information sessions from National Disability Insurance Scheme , Wanslea , Mission Australia and Aid WA - keeping our advocates informed and ready to support our community
✅ Group Facilitation Workshop with Befriend Inc - helping us in building inclusive and connected spaces for our project teams
✅ Team Building with Team Building - strengthening trust and teamwork
✅ Chair Pilates - prioritising wellbeing as we grow together

Last week we celebrated the International Day of People with Disability with a community event featuring two of our incredible ambassadors, Brian and Richard. They shared their lived experiences, offering powerful insights into inclusion and resilience. 🌟

We also enjoyed a calming breathwork session, reminding us of the importance of wellbeing and connection. Thank you to everyone who joined us in recognising and celebrating the contributions of people with disability in our community. 🧡

Join us for a relaxed afternoon of guided breathwork, storytelling, and refreshments.

This year we are marking International Day of People with Disability with a welcoming event that brings our community together through shared experiences and calm connection.

The space is open to everyone, including children with an accompanying adult, families, support workers and caregivers of people with disability. We want this to be a place where people can breathe, speak and feel a sense of belonging.
