What a fantastic day of education!✨
Last Thursday, Siobhan had the privilege of presenting at the Care in Community Training Day hosted by Surgical House 🙌

She delivered three sessions on:
👩‍⚕️ Practical Application of Secretion Management
🧼 Safe Practice For Managing Infectious Patients
💉 Wound Bed Preparation: Debridement

These practical, hands-on topics are close to our heart at Kalkoup Community Care, as they support safer, more confident care for clients living with complex needs.

We loved connecting with other wonderful healthcare partners including Hartmann, Smith+Nephew, Avanos Medical, Mun Australia, Nutricia, and Coloplast and being part of such a collaborative day of learning and sharing 👏

We’re proud to keep building knowledge, skills, and confidence across the community care space. After all, we are stronger together.

A great activity for the upcoming school holidays!

🌟 “Something new for the school holidays…” 🌟
Every school holiday we hear the same thing:

“I’m bored…” 🎨

This time, we’re doing something different.

We’re opening the doors at Hillview Intercultural Community Centre for four mornings of making, building and laughing — paint on hands, glue on fingers, ideas flying everywhere.

It’s called Creative Sparks Camp. It’s not about being the “best artist” — it’s about trying things, teaming up, and surprising yourself with what you can make.

Here’s the plan:
🗓 Tues 30 Sept | Fri 3 Oct | Tues 7 Oct | Fri 10 Oct
⏰ 9:30 – 11:30 AM
👧 Ages 7–12
💲 $15 per child per session

We’ll end the week with a little showcase so the kids can proudly show you what they’ve created.

Spots are limited and we close bookings on 29 Sept.

Let’s make this school holiday one they actually talk about afterwards. 💛

What an incredible weekend at the Perth Disability Connection Expo!

Siobhan and Stacey from the Kalkoup Community Care team had such a wonderful time connecting with so many families, support workers, allied health professionals within our space. We loved hearing your stories, sharing what we do, and learning more about the amazing work happening across our community.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, asked questions, and had a chat with us. Your support, curiosity, and passion for quality care remind us exactly why we do what we do.

We’re heading home with full hearts, new ideas, and even stronger connections to keep building a community where every individual feels supported, valued, and understood.
