Kalkoup Community Care Kalkoup Community Care

Nurse-led, family-focused support for kids and young people with complex needs. WA-based. NDIS-friendly. We are stronger together

We work with families & teams to make care feel human, not clinical.

10/05/2026

Today, we honour the incredible strength, resilience, and selflessness of mothers and mother figures everywhere. 💐

Through life’s challenges, uncertainty, long days, and quiet sacrifices, mums continue to show up for their families with unconditional love, courage, and compassion. Their strength often becomes thr foundation that holds families together during the hardest moments even when you don’t feel strong yourself.

To every mum, grandmother, carer, and mother figure in our community, thank you for all that you do, often without expecting anything in return and simply to just do the best for the people around you. Your love and sacrifice never go unnoticed. 💚

Wishing you a Mother’s Day filled with appreciation, kindness, and the recognition you truly deserve.

Proud moment for our team at Kalkoup Community Care 👏

Siobhan Hegarty, representing exactly what Kalkoup Community Care stands for at the Independence Australia Education Days in both Perth and Adelaide, delivering not one, but two impactful presentations focused on real-world clinical care in the community setting.

🩺 Session 1: Complex Wound and Stoma Care: Real-World Strategies for Community Clinicians

🫁 Session 2: Safe and Effective Ventilated Care in the Community Setting

Sharing practical knowledge, elevating standards, and supporting clinicians to deliver safe, confident care where it matters most.

This is exactly what Kalkoup Community Care stands for — bringing clinical excellence into everyday community care.

We are stronger together.

What a great way to kick off 2026 ☕️

A big thank you to everyone who joined us at this morning’s Coffee Connect. It was a genuinely engaging morning full of honest conversations about what really matters in community care — the human side, not just the clinical side.

Siobhan loved sharing her session “What we know for sure, that just isn’t so – Learning to see what matters in Community Care.”
The goal (as always) is simple — making care feel comfortable, understood and practical for the people living it every day. Without assumptions, and with clear, educated decisions.

We also appreciate the support from the suppliers and sponsors who help keep these community conversations happening.

If you came along, thank you for being part of it.
If you couldn’t make it — we hope to see you at the next one!

A huge thank you to Kalamunda Education Support Centre for welcoming Siobhan in to train your incredible staff.

It was a privilege to support your team with hands-on, practical education covering:
• Enteral feeding
• Midazolam administration
• EpiPen use

This kind of training matters.
When staff feel confident, supported, and clinically capable, it directly translates to safer care and better outcomes for the young people they support every day.

We love partnering with schools and services that genuinely invest in their teams for the passion of their role and empowerment, not just to tick a box 💙

Thank you for your trust, your engagement, and your commitment to best practice.

Here’s to confident, empowered educators, and calm, capable responses when it matters most 👏

This weeks spotlight ✨

Siobhan attended the Wound Management Update course run by the Australian College of Nursing, after thoroughly enjoying the past education days with Gary Bain.

Gary has been involved in delivering and teaching wound management since 1987. Currently in private practice as The Wound Guy, Gary provides education to medical, nursing, allied-health and product-industry personnel.

This workshop was a practical, evidence-based learning experience packed with up-to-date strategies for assessing and managing wounds. Something Siobhan is not only passionate about but forever learning and broadening her knowledge It was a great opportunity to dive deeper into clinical best practice, refresh hands-on techniques, and connect with other health professionals.

Well done Siobhan, thank you for all of your hard work and for always seeking to expand your knowledge.
