Jayde is heading to Adelaide to represent WA at the National Wheelchair Rugby Championships! It takes a lot to get there, and we're not just talking about the sweat and tears of training.
We're excited to support Jayde and share his inspiring journey as he works to reach the Nationals in 2026!
🌱 From the Oval to the Court: Help Me Reach the National Championships 🧑🦽
My sports journey started at age 10 with Australian Rules Football, teaching me grit and teamwork.
In 2003, while playing football for the Belmont Bombers Football club, I suffered a spinal cord injury, which changed my path, but it couldn't shake my competitive spirit. I traded the football oval for the court and found a new home in Wheelchair Rugby.
Over the last 21 years, I have been a staple in the West Australian local wheelchair Rugby competition. It has been my absolute honour to represent WA at the National Championships numerous times, fuelled by a lifelong passion for goal-setting and elite team sports.
The Goal
This year, I have set my sights on competing in Division 2 at the National Championships, along with a few key league rounds throughout the season. At this level of the game, the intensity is high, the competition is fierce, and the commitment required is total.
Why I Need Your Support
While my drive is stronger than ever, the logistical realities of competing at a national level are significant. To get to the championships and participate in the league rounds, I am facing substantial costs, including:
• Accessible flights to national venues.
• Accommodation that meets my disability requirements.
• Having spare customised specialised equipment for myself and my rugby wheelchair
As an independent athlete, these expenses are a major barrier to reaching the goals I’ve worked so hard to set.
How You Can Help
Please consider supporting my GoFundMe to help bridge the gap between training and the competition floor. Every contribution directly funds travel, accommodation, and equipment, ensuring I proudly represent WA and give my all at the highest level. Thank you for helping me reach my goal!
If contributing isn’t an option for you, simply sharing this page would mean the world to me. Your actions help me keep my competitive fire burning; thank you for standing by me on this journey.
