I have new course dates for psychedelic assisted therapists! There are two separate trainings:
The first is a one day practical workshop for those who have already completed a Certificate of Psychedelic Assisted Therapy (CPAT) from Mind Medicine or similar. It assumes a certain level of knowledge around preparation, contraindications, protocols, and integration, and it is focused on practical skills for holding space (shamanic techniques, energy work and how medications interact with dosing). There is an in person offering (NSW Central Coast) and a zoom offering, and I had fantastic feedback last time I ran this.
The other is a 3 day intensive or 6 week online course, for those interested in doing this work in the future. The course covers everything in the 1 day workshop, as well as information around screening, preparation, contraindications, protocols, and integration.
Please note: in addition to specific and relevant training, you currently have to be a registered counsellor, psychotherapist, psychologist or psychiatrist to work in a clinical setting in Australia. There are proposals to make this more flexible in the future, and to prioritise competency over qualifications - this is a rapidly changing space.
