👏 Thank you to optometrist 🤓 Aliza from Quinn & Co. Eyecare Mildura Langtree for conducting a pop-up clinic today at the pharmacy. 💜

😲 This is the THIRD year Aliza has offered this service to our community🙌.

She shared with the pharmacy team that the day of consulting was really rewarding and worthwhile; being able to diagnose important eye conditions 👀 that needed urgent treatment‼️, issuing eye drop prescriptions📝, and providing glasses 👓 for several patients.

In addition to consulting, Aliza helped conduct in-house training 📚 to our team to improve our knowledge around eye conditions and care. She even assisted with the development of our new eye care product ranging 🛍️ for our new pharmacy, where we will move in Feb 2026!!

The clinic was well received with some unfortunately unable to attend the booked-out clinic😔.

We are in discussions to bring this visiting service to Ouyen at more frequent intervals which will be more achievable in our new purpose-build facility from Feb onwards. The opportunities are endless 😍. We will keep everyone updated.

Today a lovely travelling patient dropped in with treats 🥹🍫 to thank us for making his health journey easier.

He was on the road, needed important heart medication 💊, and realised his script had expired 😅 …but no stress!

💻📱 Within 15 minutes, we connected him to one of our trusted Telehealth GP partners.

🩺 A qualified Aussie doctor reviewed his case, issued the script, and he was sorted before his coffee ☕️ even cooled.

👀 Optometrist Visiting Ouyen – Wednesday 26th November! 👓✨

We’re excited to share that a visiting Optometrist Quinn & Co. Eyecare Mildura Langtree will be in Ouyen on Wednesday 26th November!

This is a great opportunity to have your eyes checked without travelling out of town. 🚗💨

Over the weekend at a ceremony in Melbourne, Pharmacist Alex (A1) was humbled to be named the 2025 International Pharmacist of the Year by the Pharmacy Innovation Assembly! 🌍💊🙌

This award recognises pharmacists from diverse backgrounds who are making a meaningful and lasting impact on our profession 💡💜

Although A1 is an Australian citizen, born and raised in Brisbane 🇦🇺, his family story began in Trinidad & Tobago 🇹🇹; a vibrant Caribbean nation near Jamaica ☀️🌴. His parents migrated to Australia as skilled workers, leaving behind everything they knew to create better opportunities for their children.

Their journey shaped him profoundly. It instilled a deep desire to give back to the country that welcomed his family and recognised hard work, resilience and opportunity. Serving rural communities has become one of the most meaningful ways to honour that legacy. 🌾🤝

From Broken Hill (NSW) to Mackay (QLD) to Bunbury (WA) and now Ouyen (VIC), A1 has dedicated his entire career to rural practice; fighting to improve health outcomes for communities that continue to face real and persistent health disparities. ❤️‍🩹

At Ouyen Pharmacy💊, diversity isn’t just welcomed… it’s a strength 💪. It allows us to connect more deeply with our patients and respond to their unique health needs with empathy, understanding and culturally aware care. 💜

😲 Ouyen is making its mark on the National stage! 👏

We were featured in the Australian Pharmacist journal published by Pharmaceutical Society of Australia 🧑🏼‍⚕️ 👨🏻‍⚕️ 💊 for our innovative work surrounding Farmer health, specifically improving access to Q fever vaccination.

Thank you for the opportunity to raise awareness for this important rural health issue.

And thanks to our local farmers Linton, Ben and Hamish who made the journal article too 📸 🙂

Last night we celebrated an incredible year with both teams coming together 💊☕️💜

From restocking shelves 🛒 to answering phones 📞 to dispensing 💊 and keeping everything running smoothly (yes, even taking the bins out 🗑️💪)… every single role counts, and every person matters 👏

Pharmacists 👩‍⚕️👨🏻‍⚕️💊 cannot do their role without technicians and assistants in the background…Every single team member works together as a team; plays a critical role in improving our rural community’s access to health. 🌾🫶

We’ve partnered with local photographer & farmer Phil Down 📸🐑🌾 to showcase the rugged beauty of the Mallee right on Ouyen’s main street. With the theme we chose being 💬 “grounded in country, growing better health” 💜

Farming is at the heart of our town 🫶…even crop seasons shape health needs and how we deliver services to our community (e.g we rarely see farmers during harvest 🌾👻).

We’re always finding new ways 💡 to bring care where it’s needed for our rural community:

🤗 We are proud to announce that today both A1 and A2 have successfully completed oral examination requirements to become EPIC-MATOD certified! 😮‍💨 ☺️👏

These new skills enable us to take a more significant and proactive role in the collaborative treatment of people with opioid dependence🤝. Working closely with Doctors and Nurse Practitioners to improve access to addiction medicine services in rural Victoria.
