***Opening practice every Thurs and Sat at Body Temple Fitness Centre in Southport.***

I'm thrilled to announce that starting in Feb, I will be offering treatments at the Total Care Gym in Southport. It has been my mission to meet the growing demand from clients who prefer in-person treatments.

Unfortunately, the Helensvale practice will no longer be available for use on Saturdays. The new location has a great team of professionals, including personal trainers, physiotherapists and nutritionists. The facility offers showers and a private infrared sauna (booking essential).

I will begin opening from 10 am to 7:15 pm on Thurs and 8 am to 1 pm on Sat to better understand everyone's needs.

***Price Change: The price for treatments will change from Jan due to increased costs of equipment, insurance and association fees.***

I am committed to improving my services and listening to your feedback to give you the best care possible. I am deeply grateful for your support and love.

Please note, I will be closed Dec 25-26 and Jan 1-2 for the holiday period.

💦Our body is influenced everyday by the change of seasons and the changes in our environment without us noticing. 💦

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, winter is associated with the elements of the bladder and the kidney meridian pair.
This season affects urogenital disorders, water metabolism and pain in the lumbar region.

The bladder meridian pathway is linked to headaches, neck issues, and spine problems in the lumbar region.
Meanwhile, the kidney meridian pathway is connected to weakness in the lumbar spine and knees.

Let’s harmonise ourselves with the season and cultivate our health to prevent diseases this cold winter ❄️

🤔Have you been diagnosed and received treatment for something that you really need?

I had a 30 year old male client who is a construction worker suffering from on-going back pain. He could be diagnosed with scoliosis by the way his posture and spine were curved which was way more abnormal than just a postural issue. We have been working with deep massage but he felt that he wasn’t getting the results he wanted after a few sessions. Therefore, we decided to try Dry needling on him for the first time. There was a remarkable change straight away and almost close to a neutral posture after the treatment combined with a massage.
So often I hear stories of people who didn’t get great relief by injections or their suggested surgery, however there are definitely cases where these suggested remedies for chronic conditions have changed people’s lives.

One of the mentors said “Motion is the Lotion”. Active movement and Strengthening muscle and joints are fundamental for our body to function. Massage and stretching are the supporters to create balance in the body

Japanese word,
🌱Ikigai 生きがい(purpose, meaning , joy of life)

Every now and then I make sure to ask this to myself, what is the ikigai for my life and work.
I believe I can offer the best treatment to my clients when I fully understand myself and what the purpose of my work is.

Massage, Dry needling and Cupping is not only for releasing tension, tightness and creating a range of motion. We are working as a whole with the physical body and energy we create. Where there is stagnation, deficiency and blockage of muscle and energy, there will be pain and disfunction.

We can get the most out of our life and time when our body, mind and energy are aligned and balanced.

My Ikigai for my work is helping people to have the best possible life they can get. I am hoping I can do this for as many people as possible.
And I hope you have an ikigai in your life to put a smile on your face 🧡

Chemical reaction by Dry needling
As the needle goes in, the voltage within the cell changes, which stimulates production of hormones. Some of the main hormones are Serotonin, Endorphin, Histamine and Oxytocin. So, what happens if those hormones are activated?!

Their role in our body is enormous but here are some related to Dry needling.
Serotonin = Carries messages between nerve cells in the brain and body which work for Wound healing, Bone health, Digestion, Sleep and Mood stabilizing.
Endorphins = Block the perception of pain. Pain killer.
Histamine = Causes vasodilation which increases local blood flow to help healing damaged tissue.
Oxytocin = Reduces sensitivity

Although I know Dry needling is such an amazing tool to offer, I have seen outcomes are different according to the condition and individual client.
That is why I work on conditions with clients not only for them.

It is always a great reminder for me to see how my clients experience pain and discomfort whenever I injure myself. Dry needling is a fantastic tool to help recovery at an acute stage as well as Rest, Elevation and Icing. I understand that not many people are a fan of getting needles stuck in their skin. Therefore, I use thinner needles and a gentle approach for less discomfort. But what really is achieved by sticking thin needles into the skin? It is remarkable to know what is happening to our body during and after.
One of the main effects is releasing the trigger point and tout band to relax and release tension by binding tissue fibre. Fluid extravasations occur when the needle goes into the joint which increases the movement of white B cell (helps wound healing) from capillaries to tissues.
Next post I will explain what other extraordinary outcomes needles can bring us to our body.

😌State of mind for your Profession and Life

“Take the example of the taste the tongue experiences. What separates taste and tastebuds? The mind experiences itself directly within itself. Buddha always uses the phrasing ‘mindfulness of feeling in feeling, mindfulness of mind in mind’. Mindfulness of feeling in feeling is mindfulness of feeling directly while experiencing feeling, and certainly not contemplation of some image of feeling which one creates to give feeling some objective, separate experience of its own outside of oneself. mindfulness of feeling in feeling is the mind experiencing mindfulness of the mind in the mind.”

A good state of mind and knowledge is one of the key elements to provide the best possible outcome for clients and for me, as a remedial massage and dry needling therapist. Pain caused by trigger points can be a localised issue or a whole other issue caused by inflammation, structural damage caused by misalignment, habitual overload on a particular area, and so on. I look for different feelings within skin texture, temperature, imbalance of muscle size and body alignment to come to a conclusion. It is required for me to be in a clear state of mind so that I can identify what’s going on in each client’s conditions. Mindfulness is what I try to practice every day….
