I wanted to share a thought-provoking perspective on neurodiversity (NDs) ๐ŸŒˆ and neurotypicals (NTs) ๐Ÿง.

The interaction between these groups often comes with a hidden cost ๐Ÿ’ธ that we don't always talk aboutโ€”specifically for NTs.

My son, who is neurotypical, is surrounded by neurodivergent boys at school. He finds the environment exhausting ๐Ÿ˜ฉ because he is highly aware of the "chaos" or the different energy dynamics. ๐Ÿ’ฅ

For the Neurotypical: Being a highly sensitive person or "empath" โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน means that navigating these differences can be draining ๐Ÿ”‹โฌ‡๏ธ. It requires them to constantly regulate their own system ๐Ÿง˜ while around the high energy or different needs of others.

The Reminder for the Neurodivergent: It's important for neurodivergent individuals to remember that the cost is not just their own. They need to be mindful ๐Ÿ‘€ of the effect they are having on the people around them as well. This can be very hard to remember! ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

My Personal Example:
