At Freud & Coco we are passionate about helping women to feel comfortable in their own skin so you can unleash your true potential and lead a happy life. It’s not just about getting treatment or having a makeover, it’s about rediscovering and connecting with your whole self so you can achieve optimal well-being and flourish.
Freud & Coco is a boutique consulting and counselling service specialising in supported personal transformation. We provide counselling, styling, personal image consulting, life coaching, and psychoeducation. By combining these unique disciplines, we are able to help our clients get to the bottom of what’s holding them back, and equip them with the skills and tools so they can feel empowered, be more confident, have purpose based on their values, reach their full potential and live a happier life.
Our unique approach targets two main domains that comprise the Self: psychological and physical. We believe to be truly at ease with yourself, it’s important to look at your emotions and psychological patterns, identify your strengths, and discover and address any barriers or limiting beliefs that are preventing you to achieve that. We offer a non-judgemental, client-based counselling support around self-acceptance, romantic and family relationships, life transitions like divorce and “empty-nest syndrome”, life balance, ageing, health and psychosomatic symptomology and wellness.
Working through and healing emotional issues often leads to changes on the outer layer. In some cases, an image consulting session can be the first step on the road of self-discovery and, if or when the client is ready, deeper emotional work takes place. During our styling and personal image consulting sessions we help you to present yourself authentically to the world in a way that maximises your potential, corresponds to your goals and reflects who you truly are and your values.
Freud & Coco was founded by principal counsellor & image consultant Nadia Young. Freud & Coco was created when Nadia discovered that by combining psychology and styling advice, women feel much more supported, are more likely to address their limiting beliefs and achieve greater results.
Hello from Nadia Young
“I have been privileged to work with women throughout my career in a variety of roles, as an educator, stylist, image consultant and a neuropsychotherapy practitioner. Working in fashion for the likes of Louis Vuitton and as a creative director of a high-end jewellery brand, not only sharpened my eye for detail and taught me visual perception skills, it also highlighted the strong connection between our outer and inner worlds. Throughout client sessions I often I heard “I look horrible”, “I don’t like myself” comments that most of the times had very little truth from the objective point of view. Whose voice were they hearing? What prevented them from accepting their individual beauty and charm? I also worked with people who used compulsive shopping to fill the void and mask the pain they felt inside. People who put so much pressure on themselves to fit in by constant dieting and excessive exercising that it led to health complications. It was clear that deeper inner work had to take place in order to achieve maximum results and help clients to feel happy in their own skin.
My passion for psychology and neuroscience lead to post-graduate studies in these fields, which opened the way to the unique approach to counselling I provide to my clients. We achieve amazing results by combining the principles of neuroplasticity, evidence-based approaches in counselling like cognitive-behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, schema and narrative therapy, gestalt and emotional-freedom technique as well as integrating appearance transformation if necessary. Our clients report a higher level of life satisfaction and self-confidence. Often changes occur in many other areas of their life including romantic relationships, social life and work. I love helping women to get unstuck and guide them through this change. I look forward to helping you find a way to a happier you.”
