Thriving Thursday! 🙌 Your cut-off is powerful 💪

I remember hearing myself saying in moments of clarity: “Why do I feel like you’re trying to kill me?”

Survival.

“There’s so much power in our cut-off and our walking away”, this YouTuber says. “You see things as they are, you accept it as you should. Life goes up. And when it goes up, it stays there. You’re going to stay there enduring happiness, peace, and joy because you’ve cut them off. Finally. As hard as it’s been, as long as it took you, you cut them off.”

Wellness Wednesday tip of the day 🙌, especially for those who know the significance of recent events: Let go of the need to ‘be the justice’ of another, trusting in the universal law that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction…and you don’t need front row tickets. 😉

With that said, no shame from me if you walk past said house and choose to grab up those sparkly red slippers (especially if said ‘witch’ has 37 counts!). 😂 Just remember the universal law, make mindful and well-informed choices, and let go of that which is outside of your control. Focus on being the change you want to see. Not always do we get to see the scales balance in our lifetime, but today is a reminder that sometimes we do. ⚖️

Now take the shoes and walk away… 😂😉♥️

Wellness Wednesday tip of the day 🙌 How can you relate…?🤔

For me, it’s usually before bed when my mind goes over what I didn’t get done. This is common with an Unrelenting Standards schema: Helllooo anxiety! 😮‍💨😉

The problem I’ve learned is not the ‘doom and gloom’ narrative nor the valid anxious feelings attached to that narrative; rather, it’s how I relate to it. The practice: noticing these thoughts and feelings as nothing more than signals of necessary ‘in the moment’ self-inquiry: i.e. “How do I want to respond?”

For me, when I notice that ol’ schema ’hook’, it lets me know to redirect my thoughts to what is a healthier, more abundant narrative while still also valid. We may call this “opposite action” in DBT. So rather than fuse with the doom and gloom narrative, I see that as a signal for me to redirect the narrative to one of abundance, gratitude, and trust. In other words: “What’s going right in my life rather than what is wrong, lacking, or outside of my control.”

The key is to pay attention and notice your thoughts and feelings. Easier said than done, but only because we need to be present and observant to make even the smallest shift. Remember, every small shift offers a realignment of your neurological pathways and conditioning. And every small accomplishment towards the bigger goal offers a space for self-empowerment which we know helps to keep the momentum going. Every little step counts! 🙌❤️
