Making simple changes can have a huge effect on students learning to read and spell. It is important that students segment words into 'sounds' rather than individual letters. The focus on sounds allows them to gain knowledge of the alphabetic principal, the crucial component of effective reading and spelling.

Bonus points for Lilly saying the first sound was /SH/ but made with a 'C'. So much growth this term!
