Tomorrow, Wednesday 7th January 2026 is declared a FULL total fire ban day for Victoria and local authorities to all regions are warning residents to try and remain safe, keep indoors and stay cool and to keep up with hydration as regularly as possible.

Also, look after your pets too as they find this heat unbearable.

If you feel extremely unwell or need immediate medical attention please call 📞 000 and ask for ambulance services.

Today we celebrate 🥳 ♿️
International Day Of People With Disabilities!!

IDPwD is a United Nations (UN) day observed internationally. It aims to promote community awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disabilities .

Each year the UN announces a theme to observe for International Day of People with Disability.

The annual theme provides an overarching focus on how society can strive for inclusivity through the removal of physical, technological and attitudinal barriers for people with disability.

This has been occurring since 1992 when the General Assembly announced the 3rd of December as the International Day of Disabled Persons.

In Australia, IDPwD is a joint effort between government, schools, organisations, community groups, businesses and individuals.

The theme for IDPwD 2025 is Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress.

💉🩸World Diabetes Day 🩸 💉

World Diabetes Day falls on November 14, with the aim to promote awareness of diabetes and diabetes-related issues on a global scale.

In 2024, Diabetes Australia launched Diabetes YOUnited, to provide all
Australians living with diabetes access to the support they need.

Millions of Australians are living with diabetes, and the impact is significant.

Type 1 vs Type 2

⭐️ Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune condition where the body destroys insulin-producing cells, resulting in little to no insulin. ⭐️ Type 2 diabetes is a progressive condition where the body either doesn't produce enough insulin or becomes resistant to it, leading to high blood sugar.

Diabetes does not define who you are or prevent you from enjoying and participating in life. This is a significant ‘hidden’ chronic medical condition that requires daily management and can take a significant toll on a person mentally and physically.
