Saying goodbye is never easy, especially when it's time to bid farewell to someone we hold dear. We gathered to pay our final respects to Ian. As friends and family placed Rosemary and Wattle sprigs on his coffin in a quiet, private moment, memories of his no-fuss attitude and warm presence flooded their hearts.
The service was held in a local church, bringing comforting to all that knew him. He was a man that never wanted to be in the spotlight throughout his entire career, but today he was honoured for being such a legend....

Today we farewelled a true legend of his time. His friends and family told stories that would shock, surprise but not surprise everyone. He was a much loved man who gave so much to everyone everyday. He will be sadly missed.

Australian Death Notification Service is a wonderful service offered by the Australian Government.
The service allows families to log in, and select all the companies, organisations, government bodies, to notify them of the passing of your love one.
Which means you don't have to go into every branch and tell the same story, which can be very overwhelming for most people. It is done all electronically.

In the embrace of nature's serenity, family united to pay tribute to a life taken far too soon. The gentle trickle of the pond, the gentle breeze, and the distant rustle of a bush turkey created a poignant setting, resonating with his appreciation for the Australian bush. To honour his love for this remarkable land, he was laid to rest in a solid timber casket adorned with native flowers, a fitting tribute that captured the essence of his spirit.

What is a death Café?
At a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death.
Their objective is to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives.
A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session.

The heartbeat of community - The heart of ceremony!
Here is a ceremony we held where the coffin was amongst his friends and community throughout most of the ceremony, which had music, chanting and a smoking ceremony.
