A painful experience is what led me to kinesiology 🙏🏽

I had been in hospital for a week in excruciating pain in my upper right back around my kidney. I had every test and scan possible but nothing was showing up.

After returning home from hospital still in pain with no answers my beautiful mum decided to take me to a kinesiologist (thankgod!)

It was in this balance that my mind was blown… learning that emotions could be stored in my body and cause this much pain!!?? 🤯

Learning that emotions can come up in a variety of ways such as through an incident, around a person, a place, from a chart, book or card!

Learning that my body held all the answers and you can tap into them!!?? Amazing 🤩

Turned out I had an excess of fear in my kidneys around an incident that had happened 3 months prior. When I first found this out, tears just started flowing.

The validation and relief discovering what this was about sparked inspiration and curiosity into what this amazing modality was all about!

The rest is history but you don’t need to wait until you’re in this much pain to try kinesiology!! If your curious how it can support you, then my dm’s or inbox is always open for a chat 🤍

Grateful to be apart of .edtribe flow together for youth mental health event today! It was a beautiful afternoon filled with yoga by & connection with community 🥰

Heal.Ed Tribe is a local non-for-profit charity that supports young people struggling in the space of mental illness.

They do this through youth retreat days, mentoring programs which I’m lucky enough to be a youth mentor, education within & without schools via Youth Mental Health First Aid training & other programs such as ‘Our Voice’.
edtribe founder Megan, has an absolute heart of gold & has played such an important role in my healing journey 💛

Our minds are so powerful!

Depending on what we feed our minds with, will depend on whether it feels like our best friend or our worst enemy.

Some things that may positively impact our minds -> gratitude, affirmations, knowing our values, journalling & mindfulness activities.

Some things that may negatively impact our minds -> comparison, negative self talk, limiting beliefs, & judgements.

The truth is we all experience both the negative & positive aspects of our minds.

And most of you are probably thinking “yeah I already know this” or “I’ve tried these things & they don’t work for me” or “I don’t have time”.

However it takes regular practice to feel the benefits. So if you’ve slacked off on your self-care routine (which we all do time to time) & you’ve noticed your mind start to take over in not so helpful ways, then this is your sign to start practicing the habits that build a mind you can call your best friend!
