Some are feeling it harder to get on the mat at the moment.
Possibly, it’s the change of season, which is always unsettling. Where I am at the moment, it means increased humidity, changeability, some coolness mixed with the heat, and adapting to the days getting shorter at both ends. This changes how my body, mind and nervous system feels.
When the circumstances around us change, we must also change our approach to practice. The postures may be similar, but our focus might change from the action to the breath, from progress to preparation to be on the mat. For some the practice itself will start to look quite different as we practice for the season.
Added to that, the world feels unsettling at the moment too. It is hard to feel completely okay with so much global trauma going on.
It is tempting to avoid the mat, or to ignore the world and just push through the practice. Neither approach is Yoga. Yoga meets the moment, meets ourselves where we are and helps us meet the moment too. Yoga is not an escape.
A better approach is to get on the mat. Lie down and breath. Feel the feelings, without getting stuck in them. Breath in, feel, breath out, let it move through you. Only then can you free yourself enough to move, enough to act.
Start gently, both to let the body adapt, and the mind. Warm up the joints, muscles and breath.
For example. Lie down. Breathe and observe the feelings come and pass through with the inhale and exhale. When an impulse arises to move, try something small like holding a knee to the chest while extending the other leg along the floor. Breathe. Change legs.

Dear Students

As you may know, we only have a limited number of Yearly Passes, and they are not always available. πŸ•‰οΈ

Yearly passes are not only our best price point, but we find that our Yearly Students develop a sustainable rhythm to their practice which deeply transforms over time. After all, we are told in the Yoga Sutras:

Sa tu dirghakala nairantarya satkara asevito drdhabhumih
When practice is sustained over a long period, without interruption, and with sincere devotion, it becomes firmly established/becomes the ground upon which you stand.

We have had one become available.
Please enquire at the office if you think you would like to take your commitment to your practice to the next step. πŸͺ·πŸ™πŸͺ·

🧑 Fall in love with the award-winning Prana Chai, just as we have!

Not too sweet and not too spicy, it’s an original blend of whole spices and honey (or agave in the vegan blend), and tastes balanced and delicious... 🫚🌿

Drinking chai is a traditional Ayurvedic ritual that can nourish, enliven, and comfort - just like a warm hug; and has medicinal properties for supporting digestion and general well-being as well.

We use Prana Chai at all our events, so if you’ve loved the chai you’ve had here, why not create a chai ritual for yourself at home too πŸ«–

Grab some next time you’re in for a class or popping in to say hi πŸ‘‹ We stock a chai for every preference, including the Original, Decaf and Vegan blends.

Yummmmmm πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ

Can Kirtan save the world?
Modern science backs up what the Yogis have known for millennia - we are energetic beings. Energy frequencies affect us and the world around us, and one of the fastest ways to change our mood and environment is by changing the frequency - and that is what chanting does.
It is impossible to remain with a closed heart, rigid mind or contracted body when you chant. The sound changes the vibration within and without, and this can literally change reality.

Imagine what we could do together if the whole world chanted for the greater good of all.

Peace
Oneness
Wellbeing and Happiness for all

Experience it for yourself at our upcoming Kirtan night

πŸ’†β€β™‚οΈ Have you tried BioVeda Black Sesame Oil in your daily self-care routine?

Traditionally used in Ayurveda with a wide range of uses, it’s revered for its potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Black sesame seeds are rich in calcium, magnesium, zinc, B vitamins, vitamin E, copper and iron.

Ways to use:

🧑 A daily self-massage (abhyanga) for healthy skin and lymphatic system.

🧑 Oil pulling helps freshen the breath, and cleanse the mouth and throat. Swish two teaspoons of oil in the mouth after tongue scraping.

🧑 Nourish the nasal passages and calm your nervous system with a few drops in the nose and around the ears.

🧑 Invite restful sleep by massaging black sesame oil onto your feet before bed.

The BioVeda Cold Pressed Black Sesame Oil is certified organic, unfiltered to maintain maximum potency and transported from India with specialised processes to ensure the oil is not contaminated by toxins from plastic storage. If you’re keen to try, come in and chat to the teachers about the Ayurvedic products we have in stock, including neti pots, saffron face oil, tongue scrapers and Yogi soaps! πŸ§–β€β™€οΈπŸ«§
