Each year, approximately 120 children and adolescents are diagnosed with brain cancer. Tragically, it causes more deaths in children than any other type of cancer.
There are many challenges when it comes to treating paediatric brain cancer:
๐ฉ๐ปโโ๏ธSurgery poses a high risk of brain damage and in some cases is impossible
๐Radiation therapy may only temporarily delay tumour growth
๐Many chemotherapy drugs cannot pe*****te the blood brain barrier
Even when treatment is successful, children often face lifelong side effects, including hormonal and growth abnormalities, vision and hearing problems, and behavioural changes.
Weโre committed to funding the groundbreaking research that could lead to a cure for childhood brain cancer by supporting projects led by some of the brightest minds in brain cancer.
This September, let's unite to raise awareness, fund critical research, and support families affected by this devastating disease. Together, we can make a difference. ๐
