This morning I woke up tired and knew I had a big day ahead of sitting at my desk studying (not one of my strengths or favourite things to do 😆) I knew the one thing that would give me energy and motivation was to run to the Barron Falls, so grateful to have this natural wonder at my doorstep, and also so beautiful to have it all to myself before the crowds of tourists come to enjoy it. First time I saw a bush turkey dining on coconut! ☀️

There’s the 5k park run, then there’s the 5k Kuranda River & Rainforest run! Today I finally made it the whole way without stopping, over the railway tracks, along the river, through the melaleuca forest, over the little wooden bridge, under the skyrail, along the winding rainforest track: watch out for wait-a-while! up the steps, past the jumrum creek, up the hill next to the bat sanctuary, through the village, back along the river and up the steps to the railway station and meet the others at the local cafe.
