CDU TaoTeChing Club: A mutually supportive environment
‘CDU TaoTeChing Club’ is a club supported by Charles Darwin University (CDU) to provide a mutually supportive environment for all CDU students, staff, alumni and the public, in which everyone can achieve positive thinking and live a meaningful, fulfilling life.
Throughout the year, we have a range of activities, which provide the platform for all members to connect and build comradeship. In our fortnightly discussion group, everyone has the opportunity to interact and share stories with one another. In this positive learning environment, members can learn more about the ways one can maintain positive thinking, cultivate a spiritual life, cultivate oneself, and build positive relationship with anyone in one’s life. At the same time, members will learn about Eastern Wisdom such as Lao Tzu’s Taoteching, Confucius’s and Buddha’s teachings and philosophy.
Tao Te Ching (Tao: The Way; Te: Virtue; Ching: Classic) teaches timeless wisdom about human journey, provides advice on life, and is an essential guide to living a full spiritual life. Tao Te Ching is the wisdom left by Lao Tzu for the good of future generation in around 500BC, who left China and set off to the West (i.e. India) after his growing dismay of the moral decay of rulers and constant warfare between dukes for power in China.
