Meet the newest addition to our team, Dr Jessica Dawkins! ✨

Dr Dawkins is a Specialist General Practitioner with a background in Paediatric Speech Pathology.

She has a special interest in Early Child Development and is able to offer speech and language assessment and support to children aged 0-5 years old as part of her comprehensive child development checks.

Dr Dawkins also provides general medical consultation to patients of all ages.

Dr Sonia- Accepting New Patients at Leeuwin Medical! ✨

Meet Dr Sonia Codreanu, the newest addition to our team. Dr Sonia Codreanu graduated from UWA in 2019 and spent the next few years rotating around the major hospitals in Perth. She spent an extended amount of time working in women’s health and perinatal mental health at King Edward Memorial Hospital.

Sonia has completed her Certificate in Women’s Health and has a special interest in this field including pre-conception planning, contraception, early pregnancy care, cervical screening and breast cancer screening, and menopause.

June is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, a vital time to talk about Australia’s second deadliest cancer.

The good news? Bowel cancer is one of the most treatable cancers when detected early. Yet many people delay testing, often because symptoms are mild, or they feel fine.

At Leeuwin Medical, we’re encouraging all eligible patients to:
✅ Complete your free bowel cancer screening test (ages 50–74)
✅ Book a GP appointment if you have symptoms like blood in your stool, persistent changes in bowel habits, unexplained weight loss or abdominal discomfort
✅ Talk to your doctor if you have a family history of bowel cancer

Bowel cancer doesn’t always show symptoms early. Screening saves lives.
