Coming back into running after 6 weeks off, I’ve made a promise to myself-no comparing speeds, times, or anything else that steals from my progress.

Last year while training for HYROX, on paper my pace was improving and everything looked “on track.” But somewhere along the way, comparison crept in and I lost the why and the love for running itself.

In fitness, it’s so easy to compare your times, your pace, your lifts especially as women. And honestly, we already compare enough as mums, as females, as humans. Something I once loved slowly turned into pressure.

So here’s how I’m changing that:

1️⃣ Covering my treadmill once I’ve found a comfortable speed
2️⃣ Running for time instead of always tracking every metric on an app
3️⃣ Reminding myself that my life, my kids, and my available time to train look different to everyone else’s and that’s okay

Don’t get me wrong I’ll still follow a running program and work to improve. But I’m choosing progress without pressure. Growth without comparison. And movement that feels good again.

Because the goal isn’t just to be faster its to love the journey while getting there 💛
