Sorry to disappoint, ladies, but we didn't find that acupuncture was better than sham acupuncture for hot flushes. However, both groups improved equally by about 40% and this was sustained at 6 months after end of treatment. I'll be speaking on ABC radio this morning about our findings, around 8:50am. To all our valued participants, and to those who wanted to participate but were not eligible, thank you for being part of this important research. To all our participants, you were emailed a copy of the community report last night but a number of emails bounced back, possibly because the email was suspected as spam. Please email me if you want to receive another email with the report. We will also send it to you in the mail, so if you've changed address please email me. ccee@unimelb.edu.au

(PRWEB) March 18, 2014 As all movie theaters will tell you, 'Silence is golden.' This is absolutely not the case when referring to the 'silent change' before a woman's golden years. There is nothing 'golden' about menopause. It may be called the 'Silent Change' but it is far from quiet. Millions of…

Just a reminder to all our participants that you are free to seek whatever treatment you need for your flushes now that you have completed the treatments! You do not have to wait until you have sent in your 6 month data - we will collect information at 3 and 6 months about what other treatments you used. Don't forget to head over to the Hot Flushes Begone page as well!

This is interesting! Researchers think that an injection of local anaesthetic into a nerve bundle in the neck might reduce hot flushes. A larger trial is planned.
