We have surveyed our clients and from those who responded, here is what we found:

1. Most people want every eligible person who enters the clinic to be double vaccinated.
2. People were split almost perfectly about their preference for telehealth or in-person therapy. (We are told by our governing bodies to use telehealth unless there's an extenuating circumstance that makes it impossible).
3. Most people felt telehealth and in-person sessions had similar efficacy.
4. People were split almost perfectly regarding mask wearing, with about half wanting it to continue in our practice even when it is not required.
5. Most people asked for us to continue to have no shared books and toys in reception.

This information will be a part of our overall thinking and planning. We also have to include what our clinicians want and of course follow the DoH and our governing bodies' rules and recommendations.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments - we are taking each one into consideration!

We appreciate you taking the time to let us know your thoughts!

Tomorrow marks the start of Mental Health Month in NSW.

In Australia, 1 in 5 people experience symptoms of mental illness each year and sadly 60% of these people don’t seek support for these issues. Mental Health Month gives us an opportunity to reflect on the importance of positive mental health in our own lives and take action to support others.

This year’s theme is Tuning In by being present and aware of what’s happening within you and in the world around you.

Click the link below for more information about Mental Health Month and tips to tune in.

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.

One in eight Australians will consider su***de at some point in their lives. Each year, more than 65,000 Australians will attempt su***de, and over 3,000 will die by su***de.

World Su***de Prevention Day is a chance for us to shine light on su***de prevention, raise awareness of the impact of su***de in our communities, and share support for the people that need it.

As the lockdown continues into its tenth week, you may be feeling short tempered, having difficulty focusing, or lack motivation and reduced interest in previously enjoyed activities. These are a few symptoms of ‘lockdown fatigue’ which can occur for a variety of reasons, including being cooped up, sick of being cautious, and being cut-off from normal social interaction. But there are also various ways we can deal with such feelings of exhaustion.

The current lockdown has disrupted our lives in many ways. For most of us, it has meant that we need to work from home, and that can have a negative impact on our mental health as it takes away the little resilience-building tasks we usually do when at work. These articles explain the importance of resilience and provide some useful strategies to build resilience while working from home.
