What an inspiring visit! 💛

We were thrilled to welcome Andrew Charlton MP to Avenue Parramatta this week.

Our participants loved sharing their experiences and showing how Avenue helps people with disability discover purpose, belonging, and inclusion through meaningful work.

A huge thank you also to Dr Charlton for a $5,000 grant through the Stronger Communities Fund, which will help us install a backup battery for our lift - making Avenue even more accessible and safe for our wheelchair users. ♿💪

Lights, camera, action! Our Avenue Parramatta Social Team had a fantastic time at the movies, enjoying some well-deserved downtime and fun. Activities like these are an important part of the Avenue experience, providing opportunities for social connection and enjoyment outside structured programmes, while still supporting learning in areas such as money management, socialisation and community engagement.

The Avenue Parramatta team loved hosting Donna Davis MP last week!

Donna has been a long-standing supporter and advocate for Avenue, and we’re so grateful for her ongoing partnership. Thanks to her support, Avenue has secured grant funding to install an accessible bathroom (2024) and upgrade our air conditioning (2025) - important improvements that make our space more comfortable and inclusive for everyone.

Donna’s office also facilitates vital work for our Gigs and Flyers microbusiness team, helping to increase the economic and social inclusion of people with disability in Western Sydney.

Thank you, Donna, for championing inclusive communities and helping Avenue continue to empower people of all abilities to thrive at work and in life. 💼💙

Meet Raniya, a valued member of the Avenue Parramatta team.

Since joining Avenue, Raniya has explored a range of roles - from Hub Management to Order Fulfilment, Gigs & Flyers and Socials - embracing every opportunity to learn new skills and connect with others.

“I work in hub management, where I take coffee and lunch orders, and I do Socials two days a week. I’ve been in lots of teams before like Yevu and Gigs,” Raniya shared.

Her enthusiasm and openness to trying new things reflect what Avenue is all about - creating space for people with disability to grow, gain confidence, and build meaningful relationships through work and community participation.

🌍 Today is World Cerebral Palsy Day 2025. This year’s theme, Unique and United, resonates deeply with us as a business empowered by Fighting Chance. Our founders, Laura and Jordan, were inspired by their brother Shane, who had cerebral palsy, to create a future where people with disability have equal access to opportunity, dignity and prosperity.
