After years of collaboration, feedback, training, and development with ZEISS Vision Australia, Marsden Eye Specialists has become the first clinic in Australia to receive and perform retinal imaging using the ZEISS CLARUS 700 with ICG angiography.

This advanced technology allows for ultra-widefield retinal imaging with enhanced visualisation of retinal and choroidal pathology, supporting earlier detection, improved monitoring, and more comprehensive patient care.

Myopia (short-sightedness) is becoming increasingly common in children, with more kids needing stronger glasses at younger ages. But myopia is more than just blurry distance vision — higher levels of myopia can increase the risk of serious eye conditions later in life, including retinal disease, glaucoma, and myopic macular degeneration.

With over 25 years at Marsden Eye Specialists, Dr Fitzsimons is one of Sydney’s most experienced ophthalmic surgeons.

Specialising in cataract, refractive surgery and strabismus, he has been at the forefront of vision correction introducing some of the first refractive laser procedures in Australia back in 1990.

🌟 Meet Our New Specialist – Dr Jacintha Gong

We’re excited to welcome Dr Jacintha Gong to the Marsden Eye Specialists team!

Dr Gong is a highly trained ophthalmologist with expertise in cataract surgery and comprehensive eye care, bringing extensive international experience from both the UK and Australia.

After completing her medical degree at the University of Edinburgh, Dr Gong undertook specialist training in Scotland and further advanced her skills at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. She later worked as a Consultant Ophthalmologist in the UK before relocating to Sydney.

Known for her caring and thorough approach, Dr Gong is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable, informed and confident throughout their treatment journey.
