Last week I sat by my nans bedside as she took her final breaths.
It was a heartbreaking honour to be by her side as her soul left this world after 97 years. I was so blessed to have her in my life. She meant the world to me. I have so many beautiful memories of times we spent together and conversations we had. She understood me. We always had a special bond. She knew the grief of losing a child way to soon, a pain only those who have felt it, can fathom.
She passed down her kindness, strength, resilience and determination to me. And I will be forever grateful to her. Her life was not always easy. She didn’t need much. She was happiest when her children and family were happy and safe. This was enough to make her life on this earth complete.
Her passing has reminded me that we already have everything we need within us and often right in front of us. To slow down, be present and nurture what we have each day, including our relationships with the people we love, instead of thinking we need something different or more.
As my nan transitions into the next part her unknown journey, so do I. My clinic is now closed, as I take time to be present with my family and grieve the loss of this incredible woman who I am so proud to call my “Nan”.
I look forward to seeing you, if our paths are destined to cross again in this lifetime (or the next one), and trust that each moment will unfold exactly as it is meant to.
Thankyou to all those who have been part of my life in some way over the past 11 years that I have had my clinic opened. It has been an honor to hold space for you all.
With Love
Kim
