High cholesterol, a risk factor for ASCVD, ( atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases) is often known as the ‘silent disease’, with many people not experiencing any symptoms.
Experts say that approximately 2.1 million Australians are affected by high cholesterol.
Australians are encouraged to learn the ABCs of ASCVD
Alert – raising awareness of the silent risks associated with elevated cholesterol and ASCVD.
Behaviour – manage cholesterol levels by adopting healthy lifestyle habits that help prevent build-up.
Check – know your numbers, visit a cholesterol checkpoint for a free screening, or consult a GP.
“There is a significant gap in understanding the different types of cholesterol and their impact on heart health,” says Tanya Hall, CEO and Founder of Hearts4heart.
“Even among those who have experienced a cardiovascular event, many are unaware of their cholesterol levels.
“Knowing your numbers is vital for managing cholesterol effectively.
Heart attacks and strokes are preventable when you’re aware of your risk factors.”

PHARMACY ASSISTANT
Pemberton Pharmacy is seeking a pharmacy assistant.
Permanent Part time 3 days a week and One weekend per month and some relief work.
Duties include helping serve customers and manage stock in the pharmacy, and must be willing to ultimately learn help dispense prescriptions and have a basic understanding of making medication packs. Training provided. It's a small team, and we help each other out when required.
The successful applicant must be well presented, enthusiastic and a team player.
Applicants must be willing to work to a high standard in our dynamic quality assured environment.
Pharmacy experience not necessary. Retail experience preferred.
